Tha Dogg Pound - Dillinger & Young Gotti (20th Anniversary)

Happy Birthday to this classic. It was released independently on DPG Recordz 20 years ago. My second favorite album from Tha Dogg Pound. It should've been bigger than it was. Daz and Mike Dean were a great combination. Hopefully they'll work together again one day. What do you all think about this album?

Almost forgot that Beanie Sigel was on this.

I slim up your legs, curl up your hands, n*gga you stop walkin
When the fifth stain leave sh*t stains off in
Your Pampers, get your sh*t bag changed often
You n*ggas soft and the fifth lift chains off often
Get your block chalked when the Glock start barkin

Very underrated album. Kind of messed up they couldn't use their own fu*king name "Dogg Pound" for contractual reasons lol. Nonetheless a very solid album. Xzibits verse on here was ridiculous.

"Let the lead off!!"

Classic sh*t. An alternate version of this song was on "2002". The compilation album death Row put out to fu*k with Daz and Kurupt right after they had released this album.

Speaking of 2002 , do you remember the Last Of The Pound? Both compilations had "Dont Stop" but the latter had a version that featured Nas with Daz screaming "fu*k death Row" in the background lol. As matter of fact I think Daz put it out as a petty move towards death Row for putting out 2002 like you said. He had a label around that time (I think he had a few actually) but I forgot what it was called

Most definitely. "Dogg Food" is one of the greatest albums ever and there's not that many albums that come close to it.

Yeah, I remember. "The Last Of Tha Pound" had other songs from the death Row days on it too. It came out on DPG Recordz/Gangsta Advisory Recordingz. Daz has had a bunch of different labels. I think Dilly Recordz is the latest one he has used.

DPG Recordz and Gangsta Advisory were the main labels Daz was running around that era
