True Or False: Ludacris’ Lyrics Were Extremely Simple

NO! I’m not saying the n*gga was whack! Im not saying he didn’t have hits etc!!! I’m saying his lyrics were very BASIC!!!! and if your gonna “slap” make sure or argue anything but his lyrics being basic, give examples of lines that aren’t

His delivery, flow, clarity and sound was 10/10

But was that confused with his lyrical ability? Lines like:

“That’s why I pack a mac, that’ll crack a back
Cuz on my waist is more heat than the shack attack”.......

SOUNDS dope cuz of his voice and delivery! But it’s simple as hell.

Or this

“Imma bout to take off so F what you heard
Cuz my side mirrors flap like a fu*k bird”

With lines like these, was Ludacris the LYRICIST that we proclaimed his as? Or was it just the sound, the loud in your face voice, the perfect delivery and the humor?

ONCE AGAIN, this is about his LYRICISM.

Ok I’m a lyricist myself so imma gonna look at these lyrics ON PAPER, so there is no flow or voice or sound or delivery. Just WORDS. Imma gonna look at his vocabulary and see how simple it would be to come up with it

And look at it sensitive a*s with that last statement smh no one said sh*t about who he’s better than or who else I listen to

He’s not even more lyrical than TI was bruh. TIs lyrics hold more weight. So u get a slap too for failure to grasp concept. Idiot

“It's my daily devotion, the verses stay deeper than the ocean”

“I do it for the fans, I do it on command
I do it for the front row, I do it for the stand”

“I do it with the beat box, I did it from the start
I do it for the dee jays, I do it for the charts“

“ I spit it for the hood, I do it for the block
And since nine years old I did it for hip-hop”

“ Of what's to come next, my money's just fine
Bank filled with dumb checks,”

“Cause this is "Theater of the Mind," consider it a sign
Of what's to come next, my money's just fine”

Are u fu*kin serious n*gga??? Get the fu*k outta here. Talking bout that took a lot of time to think of. Ludacris was never a deep rapper, so being deep ISNT his strong point.

No one heard a deep luda song and said “damn, I felt that!!!” Like they would a tupac or DMX song. Two artists who are Mega lyrical either but was more about emotion

Luda was called LYRICIST.... Look at his lyrics on paper. Like i said, show me something without the delivery, flow, sound, voice or beat behind it. THATS how u judge lyrics.

Yea I will say that I get more passion and feeling out of webbies lyrics. Like how he stole the show on “better believe it”. I never play that song and not rewind his verse 3-4 times.

And plus Webbie can make all types of songs. Where luda really only stands on being funny. That’s why when he did the serious sh*t, it fell short.

It’d be like Pac tryna make “my name is” or “just lose it” lol

Yea! Like I said. The words he chooses are ABC. But, he’s a COMEDIAN rapper. Just like Redman and Eminem. But luda uses simple rhymes. But was called by millions the best lyricist in the south. He wasn’t

He had the dopest DELIVERY and SOUND. It was very demanding!! And he had some of the best beats.

But on paper. Compare his pen to TIs. Luda can’t make a song like

Even on paper the lyrics here are above average. U could talk it and it still sounds incredible

That second verse

Yeah, plus Webbie be saying funny sh*t in his songs, also. Dude has the total package as an artist. Although Boosie is my favorite out of the two. Webbie lowkey goes harder. His verse on Hold Up, Swerve 2, Smoking On Purple and Adios is the reason he's a legend in my book. It's just that Boosie work ethic is A1. Dude is consistent as hell. If Webbie had Boosie's work ethic, I don't think Boosie would be in my top 5.

Wait, so I'm sensitive, yet u quoted my statement twice, with a whole bunch of bullsh*t, calling me an idiot and getting sh*t wrong like accusing me of saying 'it took a lot of time to think of?' I would say this mind boggling, but this is BX.

Deep rapper and being a lyricist are two different things, yet u used them interchangeably in your post. And I'm the one who's failing to grasp the concept of lyricism?

YOU may not have felt it...but me and plenty of others did...even though nas and jay had the better words written down, both their verses were about them and they were more sparring with each other, while Luda is the one who expressed with his words more of the meaning of the song and the hook...that's lyricism too n*gga... doing it for the 'front row and do it for the stands' for example may be simplistic to a simplistic mind...however those of us who dare to not be one-dimensional can see that he's talking about for the ballers who can afford it to the poorer fans who fill up the bleachers.

Also conveniently left out when he said van gogh flow, luda does it for the art...no one's saying he was the illest with entendres, but he's not 'extremely' simple either and does his share...if u don't think so, maybe cut your ears off...hopefully u got that line mr. Lyricist....(and you're not more of one than I am, btw).
