Dude never lived up to being the #1 pick but he had a great career overall. Glad he was able to come back after that devastating injury although he looked washed.

Props to him though, most people would have quit after an injury like that

Maaaaaaaaaaaan they did all this underhanded mess to get him in the lineup, making him some kind of comeback “legend”, and he returns the favor by retiring???

But then again......Dwayne’s and his family’s oblivious azzez gave em all the ammo they needed.......

As the NFL turns........

Great decision I think. He proved he was a warrior by coming back to play after that injury. I'm sure he's not hurting for money. Now go out and enjoy your life after football.

He didn’t. Especially comparing him to Aaron Rodgers because coming out in the draft it was who should be #1 Smith or Rodgers.

A #1 overall QB should be a franchise cornerstone, he was anything but that. He was a serviceable and solid QB who had a few good seasons.

He did get bad hand with his 1st few years as a QB. Had like 3-4 different coaches and like twice as many OC, but he did what he could and he was solid.

He didn't live up to the pick. That's not to say he wasn't good. He was a great game manager. But game managers don't go #1 overall.

Especially if you look at that draft there were tons of talent in there that should have went ahead of him.

They picked him over Rodgers.

Should sign a 1 day with the 49ers...we stuck with him way longer than we should've but eventually he made good on it...

Alex Smith and Joe Smith will be 2 of the worst number 1 picks my teams have had to endure.

and no its not the players fault my trash teams (at the time) had picked them. but they are the players i had to watch abysmally and be mad at.

What!? I think your lost some where... but nobody honestly wants dude as a starter... no one wants to be that team that put dude on the field and something catastrophic happened to him.. so with no starting opportunities present he retires... he here do u see an issue

none of those pro bowls were legit - look at his stats. 1 of the "pro bowl" years he had 15 tds lol

no pro bowls with SF - so yeah bust pick.

There isn't a franchise cornerstone available in every draft with the #1 pick, so that expectation is unrealistic.

Thinking that 2 separate people have a burner account because they’re spewing facts.

Hence why I said SHOULD be, I didn’t say a guarantee. If you’re drafting a QB that high, the expectation of a team is that he is a franchise changer and he’s around for the next 10-15 years and playing at a high level.

The fact that you not even speaking on the topic and went from burner account to catfishing tells me that you know it’s a fact what me and the other post said. So you gotta resort to this.
