I see a few comparisons to X and Pac. Some in favor of X and X is my goat so I should be happy about that. But Pac was 25, the fact that he can get compared to one of the realest humans ever who lived twice as long really says a lot about just how incredible and wise beyond his years Pac really was. I don't know how much Pac and X had in common or who was better at what but what I do know is we lost 2 goats and there's no more of that breed

Noreaga younger than Rick Ross and 2 Chainz, and is only a year older than Pusha T.

Rap is weird

It only means that rap has been wack for a while. Back then, you could be young but still have some substance.

Its a narrative that Pac and Big became goats after their demise. They were already that. Once I was able to look at the genre outside of my personal experience, I got that they died for Hip Hop. People who were drawn to the genre after hearing about the biggest guys dying over the music, I can imagine how crazy that must've sounded. Hov has spoke on it and Kendrick had a verse about it.

I was in NY the summer when X dropped, even as a kid his impact was felt. Stop Being Greedy out every car. DMX was definitely one of them ones.

Both Pac and X were the persona of what a real n*gga used to be. Love both them brothers for giving raw emotion and possessing the capacity to put that full scope into their music. They touched every emotion. Rest In Power.

DMX was big at 27 not 28. Remember he is born in December 1970.

The same way Hov was Big's technical lyricism wordplay successor

X was Pac's raw emotional all out war with a scarred heart of gold successor. They just didn't sign to the same place, or at the same time.

Those two lanes were lined up like Goku and Vegeta for the next two when Pac and Big died, and by 98 the two best things in those lanes fell into position.

That being said both became great in their own right without quite passing the magical aspect their predecessors had.

Even with X's tracks like Who We Be and I Miss You he could never instill a shared experience of black pride amongst n*ggas quite like Pac could.

Just like even with Hov having anthem after anthem he could never quite get NY to love a song like Juicy, no matter how big Hard Knock Life got.

Pac exists without X, X admittedly doesn't exist without Pac. It's just a shame that death Row deal for X was trash so we never got a track with the two together.

X may have had a better run in music becoming a huge star immediately after his 1st mainstream album, and dropping platinum albums consistently.

Pac was definitely the better actor and went out on top of the game.

They should both be alive.

Nas bro. The youngest to enter and create something well beyond his years, and the longest to maintain his integrity.

Nas is the greatest for many reasons. Not even close.
