Yup. We're also about to watch a rush of artists die because being an artist is hard on your body and health isn't empathized. Think Prodigy or Phife.

People need to take responsibility for themselves. DMX has had every opportunity to get clean (jail, rehab and friends). His current state is sad but nothing a union exists to do would've helped him.

You can try to write behavior or morals into his contract (which would be fu*ked up because the stick ultimately is the label let's you go and some more lax label will pick him up or he'll be independent), you can hire a handler to babysit him.

But if you're not X's man, or his family or his pastor or whoever he listens to, no amount of additional structure helps.

Did whatever they could but X had some deep rooted issues & drugs were his escape. During the height of RR, he ditched a show, barred himself up in a room & just got high. It took his uncle & ex wife to get him out but it came with a cost; he ended up shooting his uncle in the foot during the struggle. He's also bi-polar. In no way am i gonna make excuses for someone i obviously don't know, but in X's case, it's really different. And i had families who went through it just like him, the label forcing him to go too rehab isn't as easy it sounds.

People need to stop being stans and see the truth. X has to want the help and want to get off the drugs and he clearly doesn’t want that.

My brother was an addict he went to rehab several times (we made him go) but it did no good he kept doing what he wanted until he unfortunately passed away because of it.

His doctor told him if you don’t stop you’re gonna die in (x amount of years) and sure enough he died in that same time frame.

How many times has DMX been to rehab? Just a couple months ago people were celebrating how healthy he looked and happy about the weight he gained.

Sometimes tho an addict is just going to addict.
