Apple cut orders for iPhones by 20%, according to a report from Nikkei Asia on Wednesday, due to decreased demand for its smallest iPhone 12 mini model. Apple’s new iPhones are still in high demand. The company plans to build 230 million iPhones in 2021, up 11.6% from 2020, according to Nikkei Asia. But, the iPhone 12 mini isn’t selling as well as expected as consumers gravitate to either the older iPhone 11, which has a bigger screen, the larger iPhone 12 or the more premium iPhone 12 Pro models. Apple shares closed down 0.91% on Wednesday.The stock rose more than 4% on Tuesday.The consumer sentiment seems to reflect reviews of the phones when they first launched in November. CNBC, for example, said the iPhone 12 mini is basically just a smaller version of the iPhone 12 with worse battery life. And while it’s compelling for people with smaller hands, most consumers should just spend the extra $100 for the iPhone 12, which has better battery life and a larger screen. The iPhone 12 models have largely been successful for Apple, however. Apple no longer discloses how many iPhones it sells each quarter but, in January, research firm IDC said the company shipped 90.1 million devices during the fourth quarter of 2020, the “highest shipment volume from a vendor in a single quarter,” and helped lead Apple to the top phone seller in the world, ahead of Samsung for the quarter. Apple iPhone revenue for the quarter was up 17% year over year, too. That momentum behind the iPhone 12 helped Apple book a record holiday quarter in 2020, bringing in more than $100 billion in a quarter for the first time in the company’s history. Apple was not immediately available to comment.

Nah there’s a market for the small hands. I can imagine Apple did this just to make sure what the actual number is so they can decide to roll with it another year (doubt it) or not.

Problem is they released 4 models in a single year. Should have just made the mini on it’s own as the official 12. 12 Pro as the standard flagship and the 12 Pro Max as the premium.

People complain that phones are too big, but then when it comes down to buying an actual small phone that has a screen that would suck to watch videos on, they pass on it.

it's a great phone and after doing the research it seems to have the biggest battery to date of any iPhone (even the 12 pro max battery ain't as big).

I really don't see how Apple can keep improving. They already got phones that are almost 7 inches tall with almost 4,000mah batteries and beautiful screens. What more is there to improve on? I think they need to make a foldable now.

Anyways becareful buying them used phones cause the owner can sell you the phone and call and say their phone got stolen if they have phone insurance and the carrier will blacklist the phone you bought IMEI number so you can't use it on their network (there's apparently services that remove this for you but they're expensive).

They can also sell you a phone that is still on a payment plan and eventually the carrier will blacklist the phone due to outstanding balance and from what I understand if that happens you are fu*ked. Our phone is paid off but we still aren't sure if the person who sold it to us can report it as stolen and get another phone while ours gets blacklisted sooooo we just kinda hoping it don't happen (I don't think it will) but you never know. Probably woulda used Swappa or eBay instead of Offerup cause they actually protect you from this stuff.

Yeah that’s why you only buy used phones that were purchased unlocked without contract. You make the seller show proof of payment or proof the phone is unlocked.

i don't watch videos on my phone really at all save for one posted on social media but ain't no way in hell i'mma watch a movie or 30 min youtube video on my phone, or even pr0n i can't do that either. all that other sh*t is for the laptop.

coincide with their software. The new iPhones have two or three cameras for better integration of AR. If you looking for new hardware every year go to a Samsung phone, but you won’t because i0s is premium software.
