It was the only movie I went to the theaters to watch. Sat back and laid my eyes on that iMax screen.... I knew it was worth it.

I now know why Nolan wanted people to see this at the boxoffice.

Both my peoples I brought with me were just as amazed too. sh*t is a work of art and perfection.

Lol trash movie, great concept

trash i use loosely cause ofc its not literal trash but its not up there wtih nolan greateness

everything was damn near great, except medicore acting, other than from that batman guy

AND, whats up with the pacing?
felt like 10 hour movie put into 2 hours and why was the main guy talkign to everyone like he was in a RPG game getting missions every interaction

Honestly the pacing is one of my favorite things about it. It's a different speed to most movies out there and it requires you to be fully alert at all times. Kinda like an F1 car, you're gong at such high speeds that one lapse of concentration, you've missed a big point in the story. It rewards multiple viewings. The pacing is perfect.

And the acting was good to me. I really liked John David Washington in it. He really kept it cool and never once over acted, unlike Elizabeth Debicki imo, who was also good but oversold the emotions at points. He wasn't working with a lot to sell his acting chops but he was really good for what his character is essentially.

I get what you're saying and you're right it wasn't boring - but for me
A film needs character development
They did not establish it
For example
Friendship between denzal and batman

Why denzal was all simping in that girl the whole time doing all this Bs for her

And please don't tell me - it's just cause - as per th concept or tenet how everything is just is - cannot be changed etc

Just as a "film", for me it failed to establish that care for characters

Concept was bananas and took bunch of breakdown videos to get the subtle nuances which I ever brilliant
I just personally felt that Nolan did not give you characters you can love

Been his thing with Dunkirk and tenet

Where as interstellar - the character development was the soul of the movie

The best thing about Tenet is that it subverts a lot of conventional stuff in movies. If you read books you'll know that it's not rare to read a book with a nameless protagonist. And it's definitely not weird to read a book with a static character. That is, they don't change, their background is unexplored etc. That's why the line Priya says "you think you're the only one who could have saved the world?" is clutch. The protagonist is just a hero, a vessel. And I don't know about yall but to me he definitely had a personality. "I ordered my hot sauce an hour ago!"

And, there's a very real reason why he simps for the tall woman. A very good one too. I don't want to spoil it.

Just watched on Amazon. Fantastic movie. I’ve been able to avoid spoilers and internet fan theories before now, but I can tell this sh*t spawned all kinda craziness I can’t wait to look up.

It isn't a well written movie and not a fully thought out idea

Actors had nothing to work with, they were all capable. Clearly Nolan was on the verge of a great, tone-setting idea for the decade but he needed a co-writer or something. Brilliant visuals can only hold it up for so long.
