![]() Nas got exposed for having ghostwriters in 2012 but everyone seems to have forgot
![]() It all started with Dream Hampton (director of surviving R Kelly - she was a journalist that hung around with rappers in the late 90s/early 00s). Dream tweeted that Jay Electronica & Dead Prez wrote most of Nas' Untitled album and that she had heard reference tracks. ![]() Stic from Dead Prez posted twice on FB confirming he ghostwrote for Nas. ![]() ![]() NEXT we got a hot 97 employee that was friends with Jay Electronica stating that Jay had personally called him to let him know he was ghostwriting for Nas ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dream Hampton then doubled down on a deleted tumblr post and sent shots at Nas for fooling all yall. This whole situation made her say 'fu*k men' and she decided to become involved in projects like surviving r kelly. ![]() It's been a lot of talk on bx recently about 'real hip hop' and writing your own tracks, but how can yall argue this when all the greats such as Drake, 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Dre, Michael Jackson, 6ix9ine, Kendrick & Jay-Z BEEN using ghostwriters. It seems like ghostwriting has been standard practice in hip hop for a long time and this debate need to stop. |

Dream is on jay's secret payroll she's not to be believed slinging shots at his rival Last edited by Toast2the; 08-20-2020 at 04:59 PM.. |

All rappers with lengthy successful careers have ghostwriters. Cyhi Da Prince said he wrote 80% Of Jay-Z & Kanye’s Watch the Thrown, not 80% of Kanye’s rhymes but 80% of the whole album! And has never had to retract that statement.
1:00 And Lupe said he gave Jay-Z songs for his Black album and Lupe is not a producer so that only leaves what else. :40 Now these are the rappers themselves saying this about Jay-Z not some groupie a*s pick me journalist. Btw Dream Hampton wrote Jay-Z’s book Decoded and Jay Electeobjca is Jay’s artist so best believe whether true or not Jay-Z put her up to saying that sh*t about JE writing for Nas. |

writing a hook counts as song writers credits. A lot of tracks comes with the hook already written and artists lay the vocals. People don’t understand a lot of songs belong to other people too and completed songs are given to other artists. That artist may change a few things but the label might make the decision for them to keep certain lyrics etc... there is too many people involved with an album to not have anyone contribute to lyrics.

![]() People need to realize even the legends get help. Ray Luv wrote the first track of Trapped for Pac. ODB wrote Cherchez LaGhost for Ghostface. Lupe admitted he wrote on the black album for Jay once. Cassidy said he wrote for some top tier rappers we consider legends. Snoop's No Limit albums were written by other people. Kurupt had a song written for him(a mainstream song but still). ![]() Last edited by Mysticman; 08-20-2020 at 05:53 PM..
