Nvidia’s GeForce Now out of beta, challenges Google Stadia at $5 a month

Nvidia’s GeForce Now is finally out of beta, challenges Google Stadia at $5 a month
The BYOG cloud gaming service with Steam, Epic, Battle.net, and Uplay support.

For the past eight years, Nvidia has been building graphics cards that can stream games over the internet — effectively putting some of the power of a gaming PC inside your less potent Windows laptop, MacBook, or phone. Today, the company’s finally ready to let North America and Europe sign up to pay for its GeForce Now service, starting at $5 a month, while also offering unlimited one-hour free trials that don’t even require a credit card.

The idea might sound familiar if you’ve heard of Google’s Stadia service, Sony’s PlayStation Now, Microsoft’s upcoming xCloud, or even Nvidia’s GeForce Now. (Nvidia’s been in beta for years and years, and also had a false start.) Each service operates on the same basic principle: delivering games much the same way you can stream a YouTube or Netflix video right now.

Tried it real quick, Injustice 2 ran pretty well on my Android device.

It's 90 days free with founder's membership.

Pretty soon you won't need a console anymore. All games will be streamed as long as you have a strong enough internet connection. Even xbox has an app you can download, sign in with gold and look through a list of games and play straight from there. No install needed because it's just streaming from a remote VM just like Nvidia is doing with this Geforce Now app and serivce. I hope it doesn't turn into streaming but got my founders tho lmao

Highly considering this.. I was thinking of building a new PC for $700 or so and a graphics card was going to be an expensive part in that build. I'm thinking I can cheap out on the graphics card (within reason) and put more money towards a better processor, memory and space and use Nvidia Now for $5 a month to play games. I have a fiber connection so my connection is A1 always.

I'm really considering going this route from what I've seen. I still need to test it my self

GFN does have it's perks for me right now, like the ability for me to play The Division 2 in bed and have my progress transfer over. Thankfully I didn't need purchase the game through Steam. You connect to Uplay.
