The Rise And Fall Of The iPod

Business Insider

Jan 23, 2020

When you think of Apple you probably think of the iPhone. But just 15 years ago, its hit product was the iPod. The iPod changed the way we listen to music and helped grow Apple into one of the biggest companies in the world. But the iPod went from accounting for almost half of Apple's revenue to not even being promoted by the company. Today, the only iPod Apple sells is the iPod touch, having discontinued the iPod Classic, Nano, and Shuffle.

All the geeks at work still have iPods for two reason they have music they paid for already or transford over from other means and second it can be in one place no need to worry about battery life.

They stole the concept and design from Creative Technologies anyway and paid them $100 mil for it. Creative still lost in the long run

The real story is the "rise" and the fall of the Zune.

The true underdeveloped GOAT.

I seriously thought it was going to pick up steam then the iPod just wiped them out.

I considered buying one at one point in time but went with the IPod

I miss my iPod. My sh*t got stolen. I had the 160gb iPod classic. I had music from all kinds of genres on there.

One day I’m just going to pony up the cash and buy another iPod classic. Too many people call me and fu*k up my vibe when I’m streaming on my phone.

The best thing about having a IPod Touch was the unlimited space on it. I remember how I used to stay downloading Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman, and Yo Gotti tapes off LiveMixtapes and Datpiff. This was wayyy back in middle school back in 2008.

I used to stay playing these back then.

I probably have to cop me a another IPod Touch so I can bump my old Gucci Mane tapes without having to delete space on my Android Phone.

I still have my iPod classic. Nothing beats it. Occasionally you have people making comments acting like it's a relic but if you love music and have a big library its the best

One of the worst things apple did was discontinue it instead of adding on to it

Zune>>ipod

Didn't Zune try to push a "Microsoft" streaming service?
They had Apple Music/Spotify first and everyone damn near revolted.

Always risky to be first.
