I mean. She's right. Say what you will about the loud minority of nerds who were mad that Brie Larson curved a dude yrs ago, about , as compared to Charlie's Angels which was about 57% female. Comic book fans, especially Marvel fans, are pretty damn loyal and majority male to boot. Not so much can be said for Charlie's Angels which was the inverse, about 57% female audience and majority White. Black women just ain't rocking with Elizabeth Banks, for some reason. Might be b/c she forgot all about The Color Purple and Whoopi Goldberg when she was lamenting about Spielberg not having female-led films. I dunno

The problem with a feminist is that they think when they suffer failures its because their a "woman in a man's world". The movie flopped because it was trash, there have been plenty and far more male directors with movies that flopped as well but there flops dont get blowed up into some national white tear sh*t storm. Terminator and Rambo both flopped and nobody cared. Charlies Angel's flopped and its man's fault, LMAO. | |

Said this in the other thread but the reality of the matter is people don't go to all-female movies, including females.
Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman succeded because people don't care about the characters any more; it's all about the brand. They have to see it because they're Team Marvel. They have to see it because they're Team DC. They have to see it because it's connected to a larger universe and directly leads to the next movie. I personally fu*king hate that system, but it makes every movie under their banner a potential billion-dollar film. |
