Welp : Marvel Studios to 'redeem' Hulk following "Endgame"

When it comes to the six OG Avengers, most of them were treated with the respect they deserved. However, many fans argue that Hulk was stripped of his dignity and reduced to the film’s laughing stock. Thus, Marvel Studios has some mending to do when it comes to Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner. Before venturing into how Marvel plans to repair the damage done, let’s discuss why fans were disappointed with Hulk in the final installment.
Why fans were disappointed with Hulk in ‘Avengers: Endgame’

While Hulk — because of legal issues — cannot make his way to the silver screen in a standalone installment, that hasn’t stopped Marvel from adequately developing his character over the Infinity saga. However, fans argue that the Russo Brothers dropped the ball in Endgame, aiming for humor over dignity. One fan explained:

The problem isn’t that he doesn’t have solo films, he had plenty of good moments and development during Phase 2 with the first two Avengers films.

The problem is that the MCU is wasting his screentime now going for stupid “funny” stuff like having him dab or wearing Tony Stark’s clothes. He’s been in three films in the past three films and it doesn’t feel like we’ve seen the Hulk at all during that time because he’s been written like a joke!
Other fans chimed in with support, noting that the development for Professor Hulk was subpar; rather than seeing brains and brawn adequately fused, fans received a smart Hulk resilient to the smash and stomp behavior that has iconicized the character throughout history.

He needed more screentime, as one fan explained; more exploratory opportunities. Rather than being an OG Avenger worthy of equal treatment, he became another vehicle for comic relief, did not contribute equally to the action sequences, and lacked the development needed to become the so-called “new and improved” Hulk we saw.
Bruce Banner will presumably play an important role in She-Hulk. In the comics, he is responsible for turning Jennifer Walters into She-Hulk; however, even if the movies go astray, Bruce Banner will likely serve to groom Jennifer Walters and introduce her into the MCU.

If Bruce Banner introduces Jennifer Walters into the MCU, he will pave the way for her to team up with the A-Force following Avengers: Endgame. Furthermore, since he is one of the OG Avengers, he will likely provide a thread to the saviors of the past, while acting as a mentor to the new heroes who join the party.

Marvel will have the opportunity to combine brains and brawn appropriately — allowing the Hulk to dish out words of wisdom and advice (from his years as an Avenger) while utilizing his physical capabilities in tandem. He will take on a fatherly role in the franchise, coming to emulate the importance Iron Man and Captain America retained. Rather than becoming a funny and smart Hulk who dabs, he will become a wise Hulk with a sense of humor, who still packs a punch.

Sounds like they finna turn him into X-mens Beast...

people will complain about anything.... and hollywood is quick to turn complaints into cash cows

in fact... complaining has fueled the majority of the decade's multi billion dollar franchises if you ask me.

Give Ruffalo a standalone already! Dude is a hell of an actor, and similar to Superman we haven't had a decent Hulk movie in decades. Marvel is dropping the ball on this one

Ahh the if you aren't doing what you are criticizing shut up response. Or Marvels heads can recognize they poorly used him which it seems they are to appease their customers....you know the ones who pay money so the people they aren't allowed to criticize actually get paid.

Marvel is trying to take the Hulk character on a evolutionary journey that spans multiple films, I get it & think its dope fan service for the comicheads. But most mcu fans only want the spectacle of him smashing stuff.

never cared about hulk as a character in the comics that much but I liked what they did in Endgame if only for the fact that it gave us a new look at the character we hadn’t seen before and a logical change given the 5 year absence

the truest hulk to the comics was probably Ragnarok though

I mean... That Hulk and fat Thor felt like they went for humor over everything. Could've done without both, but whatever.

He doesn't need to be redeemed though. People out here acting like there hasn't been tons of different versions of the hulk. He's not just a dumb brute all the fu*king time. In fact the best versions of him are the smarter ones.

Hulk was my favorite avenger. I hate how they did him. The first Avengers they did him straight. Had him on Comedy Central in the Thor movie. Let him get bi*ched in Infinity War. Since when has Hulk not wanted his get back? Honestly his rematch was one of the main reasons I wanted to see Endgame. I think there were a lot of missed moments. I was mad they let the Hulk Buster knock him out in Age of Ultron or whatever.. The fu*k??!

People demand way to much out the simplest things in life. If it’s cloudy it’s not enough sun and cold, if it’s sunny it’s to bright and hot. It was a good movie from start to end.

The fans have a point, but I also understand why Marvel did this. In the comics, The Hulk can beat Thanos alone. And they were going with the storyline of World Wrecker Hulk where he gets most of his powers enhanced being launched to another world to f*ght other warriors. But if they would have went further with the Hulk with that storyline, the Endgame would have been about nothing but the Hulk and Thanos with the Hulk winning.

I was more disappointed that he didn't get a rematch with Thanos 1v1 in Endgame, after he got that a*s WAXED in Infinity War
