Alife Everybody Hi “NY!” Release Info sneakers footwear green white orange
ALIFE

It’s been a while since Alife has released an Everybody Hi silhouette. To celebrate its return to the footwear fold, the streetwear label is dropping a bold iteration of the aforementioned sneaker which pays homage to its New York City home.

Aptly dubbed “NY,” the model is inspired by every New Yorker’s favorite menthol cigarette: Newports, as stated in the press release. Taking branding cues from Newports’ iconic packaging, the Everybody Hi “NY!” colorway sports a mainly white leather upper accented with forest green suede panels on the toe cap and tumbled leather ankle flaps. An extruded, synthetic appliqué “New York!” logo finishes off the over-all look of this OG sneaker.

“Growing up in New York, there were numerous cultural icons that resonate within the youth community, one of these would be Newport cigarettes. Not sure if it was the colors of the branding, the menthol taste of the cigarettes or the outlandish advertising that used to bless the pages of numerous magazines, but Newports are ingrained in NY culture,” says Alife’s Rob Cristofaro. “This being said, the font used throughout the history of Newport is Cooper Black, a strong, classic font. We have touched upon this reference numerous times in the past and decided that in an underground way, this represents NYC to the fullest.”

Alife originally produced sneakers back in 2000, and the Everybody sneaker was one of its best-selling silhouettes.

Interested fans can purchase the Alife Everybody Hi “NY!” now over at Alifenewyork.com and alifenewyork.co.uk for a retail price of $120 USD
