Phone began to break at 119k "open & closes". It was oficially done with a destroyed screen at 120k "open & closes"

25:45 you see the white line in the screen, and minutes later half of the screen shuts completely off.

34:47 he puts it back into the machine, and from their on out, the phone is trashed!

I dont put too much thought into the tests, because the phone wasnt built to open and close repetitively for several hours straight. But whatever the case, the tests, in a sense, did prove Samsung wrong.

Am I trippin? I don't see anything at those timestamps and the video cuts off with the phone still going strong at over 100k

I know I got the stamps right. Im rewatching the video, and it seems like they re edited it and did some fishy sh*t. The phone broke down at around 120k "open & closes"

Near the end of the video, it seems like know they dont even make it that far...Fishy sh*t happening now.

FYI YouTube only archived the first 12 hours of the livestream, the stress test ended past that...we have a followup video coming out today explaining everything that happened, and showing the fold in its final moments. Thanks all! :)"

So now I have to redo the fu*king thread later on today.

As if anyone is gonna make it to 100k open and close cycles. Y'all trade phones in every year and a half, nobody is making it that far for this to be an issue.

Even if you opened and closed this sh*t 50x a day and it crapped out at 100k cycles, that's almost 5.5 years of opening and closing.

So...it'll still last much longer than anyone would keep the phone? Sounds like a win to me

At first I was like 120k folds ain't sh*t with out even thinking of doing the math...

I feel like maybe only 10-20% would even open there phones 50 times a day so 100k is more then enough

Resale probably would be sh*t doe!

theres a difference between "the phone began to break" and "we broke the phone"

you open and close that many times you cause heat.. heat tends to fu*k sh*t up.. hell rub your hand across your arm once and you wont feel sh*t.. do it 20 times real fast and youll feel the difference

but 100k+ thats still impressive

120000 is 13.6 open and close events an hour for a year. I don't see anyone opening and closing their device that many time so even at that break point it still has a decent handle life. More importantly no one who buys the device will handle in the same way this test did. Not saying that I would purchase this but it's good enough for me.

1. Who needs a foldable phone?

2. How much more screen do you need?

Yall forget the galaxy phones are basically mini laptops. So the potential for multiple openings exceeding 13.6 a day for 5 days is probable. But since it doesnt allow for stylus use this is good.

You mean people won't buy them until Apple makes a phone with less features that is foldable.

The way tech is evolving, this sh*t could legit replace a laptop. I could see business and tech people being all over this. Even using this phone for impromptu presentations would be exciting.
