it easy to think dude is an a**hole with a 9-minute supercut of a 150-minute interview with no context of the subject and the subsequent interruptions

Yeah I had to turn this sh*t off like 30 minutes in the other day.

NDT has been a douche for a few years now. It’s funny how he went from the internets darling to constantly getting sh*t on so quickly though.

I can’t rock with dude.

I’ll still watch that new season of Cosmos when it drops, but I feel it’d be 10 times better with Attenborough or even Morgan Freeman hosting it.

NDT is one of the biggest try-hards I’ve seen come along in a longgg time.

Or having to constantly correct morons on things that are simple and elementary. When people consistently come at your throat, one can tend to become a bit jaded.

People want to judge NDT, but Joeís also not immune from being interruption-prone when discussing issues heís passionate about. Weed is his trigger and you can find several episodes of him getting combative over it.

this, it's important to understand the climate of society these days, science is under attack, things like proof and evidence are becoming dirty words

when you constantly have to deal with blatantly and demonstrably false claims, it wears you down

NDT always wants to sound like the smartest guy in the room, I remember trying to watch this episode of star talk with Matt O Dowd(actual astrophysicist not museum tour guide)and you just see how patient Matt is cus NDT always interrupting and rephrasing or act like he’s adding on, it’s mad annoying.

Yeah this was mad fu*king annoying.

Ndg original appearance was great aswell, but seems like he got caught up in his 15 mins of fame & ego takin over.

Brian Cox is a great guest if yall want a similar subject matter with a much better vibe. Think he's been on 2 times now.

ugh.. it pains me to agree with you. I used to be and still am a very big NDT fan. i love what he's done for astronomy and astrophysics. i love what he has done and continues to do for science as a whole. But when he's talking to other adults who aren't really interested in having their minds "blown" i wish he'd tone down the fun facts. No one else is allowed to get a word in around him. And i hate when he says "the last time i calculated" because he isn't known for his contributions to research. On the contrary, i've read that his PhD professors have said that his research skills are below average. He's a science communicator who almost seems to take credit for greater men's discoveries and innovations. He speaks in hyperbole, that is, everything is the greatest or worst or largest or smallest... Anyway, i still listen to his podcast, i've read all his books and will continue to. i guess i'm just getting older and have begun to do exactly what he set out to inspire me to do: my own research. I'm tired of being spoken to by him like a simple-minded cretin.

This dude NDT thought helicopters plummet to the ground if their engines fail.

He corrected himself when he received backlash a day later.

He doesn't know everything.

I'm glad he exists but yes... NDT has always been an a**hole. Remember when he used to make petty comments that were basically "If people (not scientists) weren't so invested in insert any fun activity that makes a stressful life worth living we would have blah blah blah something science related."
Basically screw you if you enjoy things that aren't work. You may not be smart enough to be a scientist anyway but screw you for not doing what NDT thinks we should all be doing.

He is a douche.

Well no one ever said the man was infallible or that he knew everything. If thatís the standard youíre holding him to, stop it, youíre going to be disappointed. He could have not said a damn thing about being wrong and kept it pushin, but he did.
