Their current phones are actually kinda solid, they should've just transitioned to android early on as a alternative to iPhone.

Naw, they shouldn't have. Blackberry OS was dope. The problem was they refused to add popular consumer apps and wanted to keep focusing on business customers. That's where they messed up.

They already had us hooked with BBM. All they had to do was build up App World, the same way Apple was building up the App Store, and most of us would have stayed. Once they decided not to, just about everybody fled to Android or iOS.

Sidenote: That Boxden BBM group was epic.

Yup. I had them both. They still in my drawer. Tried to sell em when I finally moved on to htc evo 4g but everybody hopped on the android wave when verizon came out with the first Motorola droid. Was over for BlackBerry after that sh*t.

If Blackberry (rim) was smart enough to do what they ended up doing years after people left them they would of been good.

They should of made BBM a separate app to download on apple/Android from day one.

Most people left when their friends went to Android or apple.

Also, they was getting rid of a lot of apps in their store. The banking apps I had was no longer supported. That was final straw with me. I had the key1 tho. Decent device

Blackberry Passport was legit monumental in my career, while all my peers were fu*king around on their iPhones and androids, I was in the cut closing deals on that passport on the road daily.

Nah see you’re not understanding the use of the blackberry. That sh*t was a powerhouse for communications, business deals, and productivity, not for the bullsh*t people do on their phones today. It had a way of using data that even if you had sh*tty or no service the sh*t would still work good. Still get the emails, texts and bbm’s. I would get my emails fast as sh*t on my curve before anything else. If you was the plug back then that was the phone to have, especially if yours had chirp walkie talkie. if you was gonna get caught by the boys it had one button data wipe, done, no evidence. And bbm, there was nothing like it until iMessage came out. The keyboard it had was so damn flawless I never had to look at the phone to type anything. When they changed the trackball to trackpad>>>>>>

So many adventures and memories with that phone. Only real n*ggas know how fire that phone was.

Story sounds like HTC give or take a couple years. And I'm typing this on an HTC U11. SMFH
