Remember when we told you that life-size 3D printing was a thing? Apparently, it’s already a lot more than that. Or at least it’s a lot more than life-size. In an epic-size project, physicist Sterling Backus has been working on a life-size, functional and mostly 3D printed Lamborghini Aventador in his own backyard. His goal – described in the dedicated Facebook page – is to show his kid, and kids in general, how cool science and engineering are, demonstrating the power of technology.
follow back to his website he might have the plans for download

That's probably one of the best replicas I've seen. He could make a lot of money selling these

That's cool and all but all of the digital printing in the world can't replicate the built-in computer system that controls all of the digital inputs from the car’s dynamic systems—all-wheel-drive, all-wheel steering, stability control, torque-vectoring, active suspension, plus throttle and brake functions.

Even if was an expert level computer scientist and computer engineer, it would be impossible to duplicate the source code. That type of research and development is built and improved upon from model to model over decades.

With that being said, props to him for what will hopefully be a real cool replica.

VW lawsuit ready lol

But now that he did this he should design something without legal attachments - retro or custom

What i don't understand is people who know how to build cars like this but choose to replicate other brand names. Just design your own. That would be dope AF.

I wonder what type of filament he used on that build... And if he used glue or slotted pieces. I don't feel like watching the vid, but it looks cool as fu*k so far. I used to work at a 3D printer manufacturer and I know it takes at least an hour to print out something the size of a salt shaker. Something like that had to take months, if not years with designing the 3d model and all.

EDIT: Looks like glue.
