KTLA reported on Thursday (July 18) that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department came to the rapper's house because an SUV registered in his name was involved in a chase with police on July 3. Authorities had attempted to pull the vehicle over for a suspected DUI when they sped off. An occupant from inside the vehicle began shooting during the chase as well, which resulted in the death of a pedestrian and minor injuries to several officers
YG was not present during the raid, which happened around 10 a.m. on Thursday morning. The vehicle involved was not at his home either, as it had been abandoned in Inglewood on the night of the chase and the occupants fled on foot. It does not appear that any arrest was made at YG's home.
For his part, YG has denied any involvement. Following news of the incident earlier this month, the rapper took to Twitter to speak on the case.
"I was nowhere near the scene of this incident, I was in Hollywood recording in the studio all day," YG wrote. "I was there until after midnight on the 4th of July and didn’t learn of these events until after they happened!"

These are real bullet holes Frank, not alleged. Thankfully the deputies involved escaped w/minor injuries. We are saddened by the loss of an innocent, likely at the hands of the suspects, not ours. FYI,policy considerations change drastically when fired upon by a suspect w/an AK-47 pic.twitter.com/d4hO2i1iLC
