I side with Lillard.

Shannon wanted Kawhi on the Lakers. He and Lillard are cut from two completely cloths. Some n*ggas want wins by any means, and that's perfectly fine. There is no right or wrong way. Personally, I don't want it if it's easy. I've been that way since I was a kid.

I will say this, though - if Lebron had won the title his last year in Cleveland, without a major second option, against KD & GSW, n*ggas would've declared him the GOAT, and even as a prideful Lebron hater, I couldn't even be mad.

Why? The n*gga would've had to dig deep, and and show heart and guts at unprecedented levels. Who DON'T prefer to see athletes overcome some level of adversity, rather than just steaming rolling through everybody, simply because the deck has been stacked COMPLETELY in their favors?

Shannon Sharpe is completely right, but Damian Lillard is old school so he could care less

With that said the Blazers are NEVER winning a championship with Damian Lillard being the main option

Damian Lillard simply isn't good enough

Everybody wants to be acknowledged for their craft

Same reason why low level companies put up “employees of the month”

everybody does not want to acknowledged for their craft, that is a false statement.

Only the weak minded, need acknowledgement for their "craft"

Lol

Dame know he not winning there

Him n CJ just still pissed that KD conspired with GS; now you got players trying to do the flip of Kd

Funny when ppl mention Kawhi.......dude was calling everybody to come and join him with a clippers team with GREAT depth and role players already...nobody will talk about that though, theyll pretend it never happened. Same as Toronto being bailed out by GS injuries equals Kawhi, “winning it on his own,” despite great role players and talent the same there too.

The media pushes this ring narrative which makes fans think great players without a ring are losers, like a ring is the only thing that solidifies their greatness

And 4 of these guys I put in Bold BX stay talking about. About 50% of BX had CP3 in their top 5 all time Pg list in a thread just last year.

Lebron stan Shannon animated for no reason with his usual horrible basketball takes.

Lilliard ain't wrong at all. Them Jordan stans started all the ring narrative bs. They felt threatened by Kobe being better than him so all they can mention is rings

@ what you're saying is correct but I think Shannon is overexaggerating to an extent. Casual fans don't remember how great any of those players were, and they are constantly left off GOAT/TOP, whatever you wanna call it, lists because of the lack of titles. I think that's what he was really getting at.

Outside of A.I, all those players mentioned get overlooked cause of no rings. Dudes be in here still slandering T-Mac crazy cause he never was able to take trash teams deep into the Playoffs.

Real fans will remember them, yes, but the media controls the narrative. If they don't speak on your greatness anymore then you start fading away into the background, and the media loves only d*ckeating players with titles every since Jordan.

? Wrong. First, everyone doesn’t like any one thing and it’s known that some people dislike public acknowledgement.

More importantly, companies do that to legitimately reward exemplary employees in a fashion which holds their work up as a model for other employees and also, encourages them to work harder/better. It’s all for the company’s benefit, not the employees.

Simple a*s.

Meanwhile over there in the Hip-Hop section Marvin Bagley III snatching up his lunch money n*gga need to change his name to Damien Lost cause thats all people in this culture gonna remember him for losing.

Dame sounds good but it's fake principle and "old school fans" eat it up. If KD wanted to come to Portland, Dame not saying no. Y'all dumb n*ggas really think Jordan and Kobe didn't want to play with talent. Cj outplayed this n*gga anyway in round 2 and 3. That fake moral sound tough sh*t sounds good but I don't believe it

How old are you?

You can't be older than 35, 'cause MJ was said to be 'only a great individual talent', because he didn't have rings.

Dude, rings have been the gold standard for great players, and Michael Jordan was held to that exact same standard.

Why should players AFTER Jordan be let off the hook? Dudes before Jordan was held to it, and players after Jordan should be held to it.

cj didnt outplay him lmao teams were fine with cj scoring. after that first round they forced the ball out of dame's hands every game they defended that man like he was kobe.

and yea thats why he said he took less his first max deal to get other stars.

I hate when people take what someone says out of context or you don’t fully understand what he’s saying.

What dame said was he’s not going to be out here conspiring with 2-3 other guys to team up somewhere when they are all free agents. He isn’t against recruiting a guy to Portland. If Portland has a chance to get Kd or Kawhi dame would be at the meeting. They were just trying to recruit Melo 2yrs ago. I can respect that. The best player he’s played with is Lamarcus Aldridge so if he never wins a ring and he plays his entire career in one place i can respect it.
