Omertà Isn’t a Diss Track, It’s a Threat

Now as you probably already know Omertà refers to a old Sicilian mob belief that members are supposed to stay silent about criminal dealings to the law, no matter what happened. The penalty for breaking it is death.

In this case, the ‘law’ was the public audience and the people who broke Omertà were Kanye and Pusha T. Kanye in telling Pusha T about Drake’s kid, and Pusha for telling the world.

There is a lot in this track and I’m not going to insult anyone’s intelligence, but a few lines specifically stand out to me.

Last year n1ggas really feel like they rolled on me (Pusha T)
Last year n1ggas got hot cause they told on me (Kanye)
I’m about to call the bluff on anybody that fold on me

Notice Drake references both Pusha and Kanye specifically, not leaving one off the hook. He then says he is about to ‘call the bluff’ on anyone who folded on him, or betrayed him. To me, this indicates he ( or whoever he is with) is about to make a definitive move against both of them. One that didn’t get made last year. Remember, it is too late to ‘kill’ them with diss tracks at this point, so it can’t be that.

I think these are the most telling lines in the song. Most will write this off as just being braggadocio rap, but if we know Kanye has paper and isn’t broke, and that Pusha while he may not be extremely rich, he likely isn’t going to have things auctioned off for debt, then what is Drake talking about? Why would an auction happen? It would happen if the original owners of the property PASSED AWAY. Drake says he thinks about this ALOT.

Remember, he addresses both of them, says ‘death to them’ and replies that it is just the way he is.

Now, everyone has seen how Drake’s music has changed in recent years to him talking ALOT of gangsta sh1t, all while friends and associates close to him are actually being killed. Many (including myself) believe he got x#x murdered. Most don’t believe this because of their set perception of Drake. But if he really is connected the way he claims to be, should Kanye and Pusha be concerned? I would say yes.

Btw, remember when Tekashi video set got shot up? They never caught who did that, but people assumed it was due to it being Tekashi, but it was his AND Kanye’s video shoot. Was this actually a message to Kanye?

After that, this happened...

However, it seems the phone call didn’t go as well as Kanye had hoped. “Drake called trying to threatened me,” Kanye tweeted to kick off his latest barrage of social media. “So Drake if anything happens to me or anyone from my family you are the first suspect. So cut the tough talk. It just doesn’t sit right on my spirit. I got a family and kids. [Tekashi 6ix9ine] is locked up [XXXTentacion] is dead.”

Everything makes sense, especially since J. Prince didn’t want Drake to address the issue then, and Drake essentially HAD to listen. Remember, it’s Mob Ties.
