A new poll from President Donald Trump's favorite TV network did not bode well for the commander-in-chief's goal of being elected for a second term. According to Fox News, the president is currently lagging behind as many as five of the Democratic candidates for the 2020 presidential election.


The latest poll, conducted between June 9 and June 12, found Democratic frontrunners ó former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders ó each garnering 49 percent of the vote in a hypothetical head-to-head against the president.

Biden fared slightly better against Trump, beating the incumbent by ten percentage points, while Sanders had a slightly smaller gap of nine points over the president.

The remaining three Democrats who could possibly unseat Trump were Senators Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris, and Pete Buttigieg, mayor of South Bend, Indiana.

Warren, who was the first of the Democratic hopefuls to publicly call for Trump to be impeached holds the slight edge in this trio, beating the president by 43 percent to 41 percent. Harris ó who has also since called for Trump's ouster ó and Buttigieg each came out on top against the president, but only by a single percentage point.

It is worth noting that all three of the results for these candidates were within the three percentage point margin of error for the poll, so one could arguably view them as being in a dead heat with the president. The Biden and Sanders results, however, were far outside of that margin.

Frequent Trump critic George Conway, attorney and husband of White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway, used the Fox News poll results to mock the president on Sunday morning.

Appearing to adopt the president's Twitter traits of using lots of exclamation points and the caps lock button, Conway sarcastically tweeted about the poll: "Outrageous! The Lying and Corrupt News Media is at it again! FAKE NEWS even from FOX NEWS!"



The Fox News poll results were not terribly dissimilar from a Quinnipiac University poll released last week that showed Trump lagging behind six Democratic contenders.

In that poll, 53 percent of voters said they would support Biden over Trump's 40 percent. Sanders polled at 51 percent to 42 percent for the president. Harris and Warren performed better in the Quinnipiac poll, with leads of eight and seven percentage points, respectively, over Trump. Senator Cory Booker, who was not listed in the Fox News results and Buttigieg each enjoyed a five-point margin.

Of course, the actual election is still more than a year away, and the Democratic candidates have yet to even hold their first debate.

Twenty of the 24 current Democratic candidates will take part in that first debate later this month. Because the field of hopefuls is so large, the panels have been divided and split into two events. Warren and Booker are the biggest names in the June 26 panel, while the June 27 debate will feature Biden, Sanders, Harris and Buttigieg.

The polls said he had no chance up until the moment he wiped the floor with Hillary in the general election to the dismay of every political analyst reporting on it...

I mean dude was /is the second most disliked presidential candidate ever (since they started tracking the stat). No surprise here, but he still enjoys a 90% altruism rating in his party, and when the DNC does what they do best and give us another sh*t candidate, like all other elections turnout will be the biggest factor.

He's not going to be robbed... Warren is a superior candidate and debater, I think she will earn the nomination.

I voted Bernie in 2016 but I think trying to rebrand Democratic Socialism from the boogeyman it has been is a mistake in terms of the 45+ portion of the electorate, he would've been better off covering his policy - which is popular - over leaning into the primary Republican attack against him.

Maybe he'll be more effective than I imagined at the first debate but I think it'll ultimately be Warren.

That's not what the polls said. The polls had Hillary ahead by 3 percent NATIONALLY. And that's how the popular vote turned out.

State polls vary dramatically in accuracy, methodology, and frequency of sampling.

The idea that the polls were dramatically off in 2016 drives me crazy - they weren't inaccurate. You can review Nate Silver's Twitter feed from 2016 he was tweeting about Trump having a 40% chance depending on vote distribution and he's a major statistician not just a journalist. Some news platforms did misunderstand the polls and especially how to aggregate them but the polls themselves were well within the margin of error.

To add to that. The polls started to lean more towards trump the week before the election. That was after James Comey said the investigation into Clinton's email server was being reopened. It's funny how trump followers have turned on him.

Yes. The majority of polls in 2016 had Clinton as the favorite. If favorites always won, sports betting would be a nobrainer.

Polls are a snapshot of voter's feelings at a particular time. By the time the results are released to the public, they are already out of date. If they were useless, campaigns would not spend millions doing their own internal polling to help them pinpoint where they need to campaign and get more votes.

The main reason polling is important right now is because the DNC is only allowing the top 20 candidates in polls to be allowed in their debates.

Which is kind fu*ked up since there is only 24 total. They couldn't fit 2 more on stage for each debate?

Most media is totally ignoring Mike Gravel. The New York Times doesn't even include him in their lists of Democratic candidates.

It would be hilarious to see Gravel in a debate with Joe Biden. I'm pretty sure he would call Biden a war criminal to his face and tell him that he should be executed in the Hague along with Henry Kissinger. That old man don't give a fu*k and let a bunch of teenagers control his twitter account.

The DNC is also requiring 65k individual campaign donations. They are at 17k short right now. I gave them a dollar a few months back to keep their movement alive. I'm surprised trump followers haven't started a troll mission to get Gravel into the debates. I guess they are scared of the 89 year old that talks more sh*t than trump.

I've kind of noticed fox shifting their position on trump, outside of the primetime shows. In the daytime, outside of fox and friends they'll actually question what's going on. Plus hosting Democratic Town Halls. It's almost like they are strategically fading away

Remember the polls werent in his favor in the last election.
