Call of Duty 2019 Is A Soft Reboot Simply Called “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare”

Infinity Ward’s 2019 Call of Duty title has long been in the rumour mill. Suggestions that it will be a new Modern Warfare installment have been made aplenty, and there’s been plenty of evidence since to back them up. As per new (unofficial) information, though Call of Duty 2019 is indeed going to be a new Modern Warfare game, it won’t be Modern Warfare 4.

No, apparently, it’s going to be called simply Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. As the name might have given away, Infinity Ward and Activision are treating the game as a reset of sorts- a soft reboot, to be more precise. Whether they’re softly rebooting Modern Warfare, or Call of Duty as a whole, remains to be seen.

The report first arose with YouTuber LongSensation mentioning the game’s name on Twitter. Kotaku’s Jason Schreier then followed up on the tweet, confirming himself that the report’s true, and that it’s going to be a soft reboot.

Call of Duty 2019 will be revealed soon, as per Activision, while the game will also be the centerpiece of an E3 Coliseum panel, so it’s not long left until we find out for sure one way or another.

Meanwhile, moving beyond 2019 and into the next year, it looks like Call of Duty 2020 is in a state of upheaval, with Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software reportedly having been taken off as lead developers, and the reigns having been handed back to Treyarch. Read more about that through here.

what do you expect? You addicts in your mid-late 30s now aren't the target demo for gaming companies anymore. There are new teenagers with parents ready to buy them the newest hottest video games and the easiest path for these trash companies to revenue is to sh*t out the same trash you gobbled up 15 yrs ago.

The other rumor besides the name is the fact that they are using a new engine apparently and the game is suppose to be more "realistic" in one way or another.

Theyre so scared of risk from change that they made themselves stagnant. If they were to incorporate the atmosphere for bf1 and include vehicles im pretty sure they would come out of it.

Fu*k the name. Modern Warfare is the most epic COD theme ever. In fact, it’s sold more than any other without zombies or Battle Royale. Instead of it being remastered, it’ll be an all new theme and probably take place on Yemen or Syria.

I'll pass, Activision can keep their loot box/RnG fps. CoD back in the day was good but the map pack was over priced but I rather have those overprice mp than any micro-transactions/loot boxes.

They need to reboot the Medal of Honor franchise. MOH: Allied a*sault was the first online multiplayer game I really got into way back in 2001. Still haven't seen another one of these games touch it as far as smooth gameplay.

n*ggas use to play in Sniper only servers and because you could lean left and right while moving it made you impossible to hit if the person didn't have aim. No corny aim a*sist, no OP perks, just straight aiming and leading your shots depending on ping. You could even crouch and peek around a corner and the person could barely see, or aim at, you cause only ya head and the gun would peek out, golden age of WW1/2 games.
