I know, I know Ferrari has a greater history and legacy.

If we are talking about now though, Mclaren is leading with cars like the 720s, 600 LT, Senna, they are k*lling Ferrari right now in the game.

The interiors on these bi*ches is so fine...all that suede.

With 720s, just with a tune you're doing sub-9.5s 1/4. For comparison a porsche turbo s you need to spend about $15-20 k to match that, and for lambo's obviously much more work is needed, thus more money.

They're nice but I prefer the 812 Superfast Ferrarri.

Surpassed? I'm not a huge car person, but going back 10+ years I've thought McLaren has made better cars. I'm actually amazed it's taken to this point before the mainstream has really noticed how awesome they are.

Ferrari brand is like Apple, hard for anyone to knock them off even with a better product.

imo 720s is comparable to maybe 488 pista. a pedestrian 488 which you see the most on the skreets has of course been surpassed by the 720s. but tbh isnt 720s a level above where 488 stands? maybe 488 v. 650 is the more even comparison in terms of they respective hierarchy within the brand
at that price point however its about what you value more - a precise machine that drives meticulously or the good ol feelin that only a rrari can bring (for the better or worse). i personally dont care for mclarens design language (both the exterior and interior) and even more importantly they exhaust notes

McLaren has come a long way, and Id say that technically the Senna is better than a LaFerrari, but I still wouldnt put Mclarens lineup over Ferrari’s.

The 812, F12 tdf, 458 (any variant) and 488 (any variant), Laferrari, Fxx-k and now the F8 Tributo and P80/c are a serious matchup. And besides the Senna, all of the new Mclaren models are really hard to tell apart. I just think aesthetically Ferrari is at the top of its game and Mclaren still has a long way to go.

If anything Porsche and Aston Martin are making up the most ground.

Can't really compare the two, and I'll explain why I feel that way...

McLaren doesn't build the entire car from the ground up like Ferrari. Not road cars, and not their Formula One cars.

Their current engines whether it's a Senna, P1 or 720, etc are joint ventures and even the electric motors used in P1s are either joint ventures/reverse engineered from their Formula One engines which they lease from Renault and formally Honda and Mercedes. Even the legendary McLaren F1 was powered by BMW motor.

I love McLaren, but Ferrari is Ferrari.

I know you just didnít talk about $15-20k add on to price of a Porsche 911 Turbo S. This isnít a Civic. That cost is negligible in this class.

I'm not sure what you mean.

A bigger y-pipe, meth, bigger turbo and an exhaust with a new tune and you're good to go.

I don't know many who are willing to spend $20K on a honda civic engine upgrades, but for porsches this seems to be the standard.

If you're spending more than $20K on those specific upgrades, then that's your problem. I speak from experience.

It’s because you brought up price of a $15k upgrade as a comparison as if it really is a consideration for buyers of those cars. I brought up Honda Civic because that would be a significant cost in relation to the cost of the car. If you are buying a brand new 911 Turbo or Mclaren, $15k is nothing. You’re already spending $25-$40k in options on those cars. I also speak from experience.

I figured that's what you might have meant when you said it's negligible, and yes, for those vehicles' price range it absolutely is.

I was just pointing out how much you may be required to spend to achieve the same trap as a Mclaren for comparison sake. I'm not trying to make it seem like it's not reasonable but yeah, just how much more you may need to spend. Keep in mind you can get used for cheaper. Not everyone buys new.

I know shops that spend that much on civics and they all got the same setups for the most part.

I donít think we even have a disagreement here. Why are we debating? Lol.

Op you are 100% right. McLaren is k*lling everybody right now. Even the MP4-12C was a beast. Ferrari can't seem to get it together, Porsche still managed to make the 911 even more perfect, Lamborghini knocked it out the park with their Huracan and the last hoorah Aventador SVJ, Aston Martin is creepin on a come up with their beautiful cars. Even Ford did they thing with the GT despite its not so loved V6. McLaren is at the top of the heap though. P1, Senna, 600LT, 650S, 570S, 720S, MP4....and the legendary F1

McLaren has been surpassed Ferrari. Everything since the P1 has bested ferrari in every way. The Pista and F8 Tributo are trying to catch up to the 720S.

car looks incredible no question but Ferrari and lambo just have a longer track record with sports car fans and lets not forget Porsche when they bring out limited production cars as well as Ford with the Ford GT
