Whats up BX, I've written a couple articles that some of ya'll have enjoyed and some haven't. Whichever side of the fence you sit on, understand that I do it because I miss the old BX. I miss coming in here and having real dialogues about Hip Hop instead of these trolley type threads that get posted here now.
I also miss good Blog posts that used to get people thinking, exchanging ideas but mainly talking! So on that note instead of complaining I've decided to create a new Blog post on here called
"Unpopular Opinion" where I'll bring some unpopular opinions to the fore front so we can talk disagree or agree on. The main thing for me is that we bring real convos back to BX.
If you like these posts or have some unpopular ideas that you'd like to explore, let me know.
So on that note lets kick it off with my Unpopular Opinion that the LOX never really lived up to their full potential.
Look I love The Lox and if you're an fellow old head New Yorker who grew up in the 90's then you most probably love them too. That said we need to call a spade a spade Jadakiss, Styles and Sheek never really went past being seen as underground artists. Now you might say "Yea but the streets love them" sure yes we do but nobody plays a game to sit on the bench or come in second place.
The Lox had ample opportunity to be great. They literally were on two of the hottest teams (Bad Boy and Ruff Ryders) during their prime runs and still could not cross that finish line.
Look the Lox will always have my respect but if you stand next to two great artists in prime BIG and prime DMX and don't come out great. in my opinion That means that you never wanted to be great.
