use imageshack.us instead of photobucket.

photobucket has bandwidth limits and doesn't like hot linking

I believe before you start making games for a system you would need to know at least what code (Programming Language) your console or home system is going to use. Hence the reason I said it's probably Xbox 360 or PC because they both use the same languages (direct x 10 and direct x 9).

So basically you don't know wtf you are talking about. It's been said it is PC screens, but it can easily be transferred to the Xbox 360 because of the very similar libraries used on both platforms. STFU cause you don't know what your talking about.

i dont know what im talking about, riiiight. would u like me to scan the egm i have from a few months ago that pretty much proves my point. an interview with game developers for a war type game for next gen xbox that could pretty much be quoted saying, we have no idea about a finished product, microsoft told us what the system would be able to do and we just built on that. and what the hell do u think it means when i say a system capabilities limitations and crap, u think im talking about if its potty trained. theres not much in life i know, but video games and computers I KNOW. so SHADDAP

U are not the smartest cookie in the jar. do you think games are just made by graphics? MS has had the programming language in place since the first xbox came out (They both use the same programming language). Maybe you misunderstood me homes. I was backing up my argument that these are not PS3 images because of the fact they have NO SYSTEM TO RUN THEIR GAMES ON YET. I know the way video games are made ... and I know they take a while to develop. I never said they didn't. Why don't you scan that article, because I am curious to what it does say. I think I would get more out of it then you, because I have a background in programming. Hell I went to college for it for 4 years.

As for both of you that are flaming me ... here's an article for you both saying that EA of all developers doesn't even have a PS3 dev kit. They do say that PS3 is suppose to have more under the hood, but how would they know? Probably just random specs thrown out there by Sony like they did with the ol' PS2. The article is dated in January ... but it take years to make games doesn't it? STFU

PS3 TO OUTPERFORM XBOX 2?

EA exec suggests Sony's next-gen PlayStation could pack more punch than Microsoft's Xbox 2. More future console clues inside

11:00 An Electronic Arts executive has indicated that Sony's PS3 will have more processing horsepower than Microsoft's Xbox 2.
Speaking to BBC News Rory Armes, European studio general manager for EA, said, "The rumours are that PlayStation 3 will have a little more under the hood than Xbox 2."

Armes revealed that EA development teams were already in possession of Xbox 2 dev kits but not Sony PS3 or Nintendo Revolution kits, lending credence to reports that Xbox 2 will hit shelves possibly before the end of 2005, and certainly before PS3 and Revolution.

He added that final technical specs for all three consoles have not yet been confirmed, making early development "a horrendous effort in the first year."

Sony points to 2006 PS3 ship date
Posted by: Kurt Uhlir at November 29, 2004 10:48:40 PM

Sony's PlayStation 3 will not appear until 2006 at the earliest, the company tacitly confirmed today.

The company's joint announcement with IBM and Toshiba that the PS3's processor, 'Cell', will be detailed at February 2005's International Solid State Circuits Conference focuses on the chip's features. However, it also notes that Sony plans to "commercialise" Cell-based products in 2006 and confirms that Cell will be used in the company's "next-generation computer entertainment system".

That timeframe follows IBM's plan to begin limited Cell production at its East Fishkill, New York 300mm wafer fab in the second half of 2005. In the past, IBM has pointed to an H1 2005 production start.

It's a schedule that's by no means at odds with what Sony has said so far. Cell is due to be unveiled mid-Q1 2005, and the PS3 is expected to be formally announced before the end of Q1 2005, when Sony's 2005 fiscal year comes to a close. You wouldn't expect Sony to talk about PS3 until Cell was complete, so those two events are clearly in sync.

PS3 is expected to make its first public appearance at the E3 show next May, just after Sony begins shipping first-generation console software development kits (SDKs), which are likely to be software-only offerings given IBM's production scheduled. Sony's roadmap calls for a second-generation SDK to appear October 2005, which will presumably ship alongside early hardware, again given IBM's H2 production run.

Such a schedule would give developers a good shot at offering software for the console early to mid-2006, which is when the console is likely to appear.

There you have one more article for you boys. The first batch of dev kits have been shipped to first party developers right now. Second and third party developers might have the kits, but I would say more around this summer. The well integrated games that look so beautiful will take sometime, you won't see the full potential of these systems until about a year after their initial release. Since it takes years to make games ... we should see PS3 sometime in 2007-2008 (Sarcasm) ... I think I rest my case. PS3 will be out Xmas time next year (06). Games don't take as long as you think they do. And everyone is going to be happy as hell with whichever system they go out and buy. And thanks dark side hero ... I have rest my case

ive been gone looking for the mag but i think threw it away last month. i did email all 3 mags though and am awaiting for a response, but heres a quick snippet from a gta san andreas article JUST RELEASED that pretty much proves some of my point

The Xbox version has been fully optimized for the Xbox, from both a visual and sonic standpoint. The lighting, models, textures and the draw distance have all been substantially improved. When creating the core game, Rockstar North creates high resolution models for everything. They hone them down for whichever system they're working on, and in the case of the PS2 and Xbox, the models, while the same, appear substantially different in visual quality.
