Jul 10 - Some Americans lack emergency fund

23% of Americans have no emergency savings, according to a survey by bankrate.com. With low unemployment and wages moving upward, "Americans theoretically should have more money to put away for a rainy day fund," says Axios — but many (particularly millennials) are battling debt, and "only a small fraction" of Americans could "comfortably" maintain their lifestyle in an economic downturn. But there's good news: That 23% is at a seven-year low, and 29% of those surveyed have enough saved to cover at least six months of expenses.

This is one of those talking points to sh*t on people instead of dealing with the massive income inequity in the US. The ole "But but but poor people have cellphones". If you are a functioning adult...you got a fu*king cellphone.

That like when stuart varney complained poor people have refrigerators. If you have a house you have a

n*gga how old are you? Do you know what a cellphone is? Do you still have a landline phone?

:feltonwtf:

I dont really need an answer to those questions. Anyway living expenses have been rising on Americans for a while and wages are not. Medical cost, food, child care, RENT, cars, insurance, mortgages and gas prices. What it looks like no help is coming anytime soon.

Why is helping american people considered a handout? Trump just passed PERMANENT tax cuts for the Rich and Corporations. How much of tax break did foxconn just get? $3 billion in tax credits and breaks. Banks are still thriving after the bank bailout in 2008. Then the dumbass tariffs is already increasing costs on goods we use everyday....But but but stick it to liberals right. Right? Get your trolling a*s out here

really true, and super upsetting.

there's bad apples in every bunch, so definitely some people live outside their means (at both ends of the spectrum).

but more so, the entire system is stacked against you and this bullsh*t "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" mentality still pervades, and makes morons out of those who defend corporations who can take the hit, over people who can't.

Rule #1: dont count OTHER PEOPLES MONEY

you should be asking how much did YOU get back in taxes

costs for goods always go up lol..finite resources = increasing costs due to supply. transport is going up. but also are wages.

tariffs are a long game so we wont know how that ends up...but u seem to know that his policy is going to negatively effect us? if it were so cut and dry dont u think everyone would have the same policy? at the end of the day, the majority of the world depends on the US...we hold most the cards so why play that game with other countries. they need to play with us not the other way around

yep. You just gotta humble yourself sometimes. Get the studio apartment instead of the two-bedroom. You don't need a new car every damn 3 years. Get a roommate(s). Stay your a*s inside and cook instead of going to the the latest restaurant/bar 3 times a week.

If you don't got at least 6 months of combined monthly expenses in a bank account right now, u fu*kin up. Cuz anything can happen, your corporate job can be gone at any moment & your own business will have dry seasons too.

How old are you seriously? Do you really think millennials are purchasing cars every three years? Do you really think millennials dont already have roomates?

The last person I heard of getting a new car every three years was a pastor in a mega church. He was 50 something years old. Thats the common theme in this thread a bunch of repeated old talking points. Next yall gonna say millennials are eating too much avocado.

Having anything saved is better than nothing.

You gotta develop a savings strategy and stop finding bull sh*t excuses for not having anything at all saved up and be responsible for your own life.

If you gotta get a second job, get a second job, fu*k it. If the government ain't helping you, try something else.

How old am i, I'm a millennial.

And yes I see ppl in my generation trading cars like sneakers and living in homes they can barely pay the mortgage for every month.

This is my social circle, maybe yours is different. Financial irresponsibility spans all tax brackets. You can be rich and live check to check.
