Puma unveils the Clyde Court Disrupt bball sneaker.

Puma's return to basketball wouldn't be complete without a new on-court sneaker, and today we have our first look at what Puma athletes DeAndre Ayton, Marvin Bagley III and Zhaire Smith will be rocking during their rookie season.

Dubbed the Puma Clyde Court Disrupt, the shoes are inspired by Knicks legend Walt "Clyde" Frazier, who was recently given a lifetime contract with the revived brand. Puma has a long history in the basketball space with Clyde and the first ever endorsed sneaker – the Puma Clyde - that was launched in 1973.

This updated take on that classic sneaker features an engineered knit upper, a padded ankle collar and an external heel counter. Thus far, the kicks have only been revealed in a vibrant sunburst colorway, which is fitting considering it is widely believed the Phoenix Suns will take Puma's DeAndre Ayton with the #1 overall pick in tomorrow night's NBA Draft.

The Puma Clyde Court Disrupt is expected to launch at retailers on October 1, just in time for the start of the 2018-19 NBA season.

I think this is suppose to be a homage to its original shoe back in 73

not sure i would have went that route, id have to try a pair on to see how they feel, i dont care how they look...Only basketball shoes you should be rocking for style are the orginal jordan line up anyway

a lot of hoop shoes are lows these days. also very few nba players actually play in just socks and shoes. they usually have their ankles taped up so the shoe portion doesn't matter so much anymore

These look dope to me. Would like to see other colors. Good for a lifestyle sneaker.

Not sure how well they would perform for basketball. Need to see sole technology used, because that just looks like a basic rubber sole.

Ankle portion doesn't matter like others mentioned. Even the new KD's have the same form

Lows are actually better because it allows your ankle to be more flexible. In highs your sh*t is basically fixed in one position. My worst ankle injuries came in highs

The only thing that fixes your ankle in a position is an ankle brace. Not even high tops have enough structural rigidity to do that.

As for people saying that you will mess your feet/ankles up in these, y’all must have forgotten what sneakers used to be like. Professionals used to ball in Chuck Taylor Converses with no problem. People exaggerate this topic.

How is he looking? Did he get his shot back? How do you casually mention hes working out at your gym and not give us details on how his shot is looking.

I gotta keep it real with you ... I didn’t even know it was him.
We have a lounge area before you get to the locker room and he was sitting there talking on the phone. I walked by him thinking he looked familiar but that was it.

Wasn’t until I got to the locker room and heard everyone talking about him ... that’s when I got all the info

We have two gyms and they cleared out one for him.

So to answer your question... I didn’t get see him work out

Lol

The only thing saving this shoe in my eyes is knowing puma has the adidas boost patent and can use it in the shoes. Everything else is pretty blah. I'd fu*k up a triple black colorway for the low low

If it's a stable base and your foot is locked down, that's better than any rigid high top. Collar height alone won't stop you from rolling in ankle. Nothing short of Curry's massive braces will haha...
