They not taking the Comcast deal they using this to put the pressure on Disney and marvel to make the deal sweeter for them. Because let’s be honest they(marvel) got hosed in the Spider-Man deal. They have use but no rights so they don’t really gain anything outside the correct intellectual presentation of the character. Pretty sure they were trying do the leg work and not see any profit again for the fox properties

Marvel still get the pay from all the merchandising on Spider-Man tho, games to toys etc. Good movies just drive profits there even tho they don't get the movie money

I feel you bruh but whatís a percentage of merch vs everything merch included. Marvel realized the brand value after the avengers made a bil itís reason they have been trying to get out of those terrible deals. Why take a slice and I can take the entire cake

You lack business acumen my friend.

To even suggest that 'DisneyMarvel' would take a loss on such an easily projected business arrangement as the Spider-Man deal is beyond shortsighted.

Especially considering Disney are the ones who approached SONY with the collaborative deal.

100% of the merch tho, and getting to use Spider-Man in the Avengers is one of the reasons also that it hit that 2 bil. It's a loss that they don't get the profit from The Spider-Man solo movies directly nor do that spend any money to make them...but having Spider-Man be a part of MCU is adding profit everywhere else for them. They realized the brand value when they decided to make the OG Iron Man tho.

Of course it would be much better if that completely had the rights back, but its still a smart move

So where did comcast come from? And if Comcast completes this deal do they take disneys place in that hierarchy?

Comcast only objective is to purchase FOX because FOX owns 39% of Sky (European cable company) once they purchase FOX they can then buy out the rest, 61%. I’m sure they will sell FF and XMen to Disney for a good chunk of money.

Marvel's covering their debt and offering 50 billion in straight stock, at the rate they're eating that's far more valuable than 65 cash.

15 years later Comcast still tryna force Disney into bed. Smh Comcast is one of the trashest US companies hands down. The fu*king at&t and time Warner merger being OK’d a week after NetNuet passes is beyond sickening. Comcast is essentially a monopoly at this point skating around regulation like Michelle Kwon. Smh fu*k this

n*gga this ain't the movies it's just about movies

Fox don't give a fu*k. Comcast don't give a fu*k. Disney don't give a fu*k.

Do they own the full rights or just right to use him. If you think they didnít learn from this deal your business acumen is lacking. You donít try to buy a studio if in the end your only looking for right to use characters. Think about that they can use spidey how ever they see fit but donít get to see the full profit of their labor. Thatís business 101 you donít go for the slice you take the entire cake.
