The early foundations of the internet itself are only about ~50 years old, the first plane about ~100 years.. You really think that in another 100 years we won't have miniaturized autonomous airplanes flying us around? It's a forgone conclusion, and it'll be a lot sooner than you think

It could happen in a 100+ years, but 100+ years is not within our lifetimes.

I already know we have the technology and probably have had it for decades. But the world changes once this happens and you know politics will always get in the way of progress. Plus they'll be "terror" concerns. But it won't become a reality until the large corporations that are involved with transportation now find out an easy way to monetize this.

But what happens when you have someone basically drunk driving a small airplane over a community? What failsafes do they have for a vehicle running out of fuel halfway to a destination? I'm all for it this tech, I would like to see the hyperloop become a thing in my lifetime. Just look at how long we've been waiting for truly fuel efficient vehicles. Electric vehicles should of been mainstream years ago. They had vehicles in the 70's running on water. Gasoline vehicles shown in popular mechanics years ago getting 100mph.
But cities will have to be rebuilt from the ground up for this to work. We don't have the infrastructure for this.

Man first flew planes in 1903, and in 1969 you could fly from London to New York in just over 3 hours at over 1300mph on the Concorde.

Trust me, it will happen in your lifetime.

If you were born in 1950, you were alive before the jumbo jets, the microwave, the internet, or cell phones even existed. That’s just a 68 year old in 2018.

People barely had computers in their homes in 1990, and if they did, they had sh*tty as dial-up internet...Now we have what they’d consider back then as a supercomputer in our pockets.

Greatest time in history to be alive, don’t get it twisted.

You must not pay attention to the current world youíre living in. This will be a normal reality in less than 50 years.

I don't think it will happen in our lifetime. New Technology takes giant leaps forward and then starts to crawl. Look at the automobile. Of course there have been great leaps since the first vehicles hit the market but its still just an engine run by fossil fuels. They made them more powerful, efficient and safe, but it's still an engine and gas. We are just now in the infancy of self driving cars and in youthful stages of electric vehicles.

Do you think we will have road full of self driving cars in the next 20-30 years?

The iPhone and video calling was witchcraft a little over 10 years ago. A laptop a little over 20. fu*k...wifi is relatively new. Point is technology moving fast as fu*k. If we got all those things in the last 20 years imagine what we'll see in the next 30 or 40

people don’t even realize that the biggest factor holding back technology right now, is not technology, but having a sufficient power source. almost 100% of the sh*t we saw in back to the future part 2 could be had right now if they the portable battery power to support it.

flying cars/vehicle are one of the biggest items held back by not enough portable battery power

Correction... '64...
1946
It only took 5 years for commercial development of the integrated circuit. From there we've been technologically advancing Moore's Law, new sensors, 5g, grid tech, something new, nano tech, blah blah, we'll get there.

.....AT&T announced the creation of the General Mobile Radiotelephone Service on June 29, 1945, and applied to the FCC for authority to establish base stations in Baltimore, Chicago, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Washington DC, Columbus Ohio, Denver, Houston, New York City, and Salt Lake City.

.....The first Highway system went on the air in August 28, 1946 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and the first Urban system went on the air in Saint Louis on June 17, 1946.
