This is why I hate Apple. They sell products with average specs and now they have these other companies thinking they can charge similar prices if they bump up the specs a little bit.

I actually like the first Surface Book and was interested in the Surface Book 2, but they're tripping with these prices. Count me out.

The prices are about the same as the first when it was released. Apple doesn't have a product to match the Surface Book. Apple just charges a lot because they have sheep buying them not matter how bad they are.

You're right that you get more for the price with the Surface Book, but you also proved my point. It's perceived quality.

Apple charges an obscene amount of money for average specs. They get away with it because their hardware is admittedly great and their fanbase is loyal like a cult. This allows other companies to bump up the specs on their laptops and undercut the price just a little bit and present it as a good deal. Same sh*t is happening with the iPhone

Meanwhile, you can get a similarly spec'd XPS or Spectre for much cheaper than both of these. Both HP and Dell are gonna join the wave next year tho so the both the XPS and the Spectre are gonna go up in price next year because that's the direction of the market, thanks to Apple.

the logicboard on my macbook pro just took a sh*t.

Wondering if I should cop this or just get a new motherboard for my macbook pro (2011 15 inch). Any suggestions? Can't go to Apple because I yanked out the disc drive and swapped it for the hard drive and where the hard drive used to be is a 512gb SSD.

Is it expensive to get it fixed? Where the fu*k would I even go?

Always stayed away from machines with these price tags you can get you a decent i7 dell for 700 - 800$. I make my living off of Visual Studio and SQL Management Studio and I do just fine.

All you had to do was a quick google search fam

A fully spec'd 15 Inch XPS is about $800 cheaper than a 15 Inch MbP with a better graphics card and a touchscreen instead of that dumb a.ss touchbar.

A fully spec'd 15 Inch HP Spectre is $1300 cheaper than the 15 Inch MbP with a touchscreen and better battery.

I can do a 13 Inch comparison also but Apple doesn't even offer the new 13 Inch MbP in 16gb RAM configs. If you want a 13 Inch MbP with 16gb of RAM, it has to be special ordered and it's over $2K.
