this sh*t took down Star Wars FA.

F. Gary Gray got another monster under his belt, Hollywierd should respect that man.

Non-whites as leads don't do well overseas tho

Of course it took down SWFA in the foreign part an anybody who thought it wasn't possible is just dumb. Just look at what F7 did two years ago. This Fast franchise is making most of its money outside of america.

1.1bill+ incoming worldwide easy tho.

The movie was actually not that bad !! i mean you gotta keep in mind when you go into this film you can't expect a very deep story telling.. Its mindless action with a little bit of a plot.. I will admit tho this was alot better than F7 in my opinion.. Instead of being randomly recruited or them doing a random heist for no reason the film actually has a story to why they are doing what they gotta do for the film. Cipher has Leverage on Dom. The Team is trying to get Dom Back.. Dom's reason for doing what he's doing is reasonable. Cipher just wants to take over the world (typical cliche bullsh*t) but the movie focuses more on The Rock / Michelle Rodriguez & Jason Statham.. Bro... Jason Statham legit has the best scenes ! Especially at the end the Airplane f*ght was just toooo fu*king Raw (about time Statham comes back with an Action Pack Movie). SO yeah dont go in trying to take this movie serious because its not.. But it is a fun movie. (unlike x*x return of xander cage that was complete garbage)

The reason why ppl accept FF over Transformers is because I believe viewers are more invested into FFs characters. The theme with FF is "family", and I think audiences buy into that. With Transformers after like 4 movies, the human characters still have no likability or depth, and they still invested little to nothing into Optimus Prime, Bubble Bee, or their interchangeable team as far as character development/personality.

Certain comicbook movies like, Xmen for example, could've done exactly what FF is doing; FF got like 6-7 characters you give fu*k about. But FOX only invested in Wolverine, Xavier, Magneto, & Mystique, and never really invested in the rest of the Xmen team as far as good casting & good writing.

FF is a stupid fun popcorn franchise, but underneath it all is heart & personality. That's what separates FF from being just a typical B-level action movie on Netflix.

And the critics continue to hate on Batman v Superman. Fate of Furious was ok, but was not deserving of an opening like this but I get the Rock and Vin Diesel pull in the crowd. Even Iron Man 3 made a billy. The critics, rotten tomatoes, and movie watchers need to figure this out.

Crazy, the first film in the series (2001) didn't even make half of 500 million in it's entire run

As soon as the series jump the shark and went for over the top antics and stunts, the film franchise has skyrocketed. I'm not even mad, but this franchise is completely removed from what it was originally.

I never thought of it that way. I'm not a fan of the movies, but when they're proving that notion wrong then I'm all for them.

Yep, cast is diverse as fu*k and they still winning. I co-sign these movies pretty much strictly for that reason lol. Making money internationally without having to make the black people Blue cat people or some other sh*t

The first movie came out before the foreign market became what it is today. So saying that isn't saying much.

I still believe it has to more to do with what I said in my 2nd paragraph, then anything that was going in the foreign markets.

Because none of the films in the series were pulling in this kind of money in the first weekend until Furious 7. Right around the time the films started getting ridiculous with the stunts and action.
