From ↪ Kotaku
GameStop just ↪
announced that the company has “reserved all of its first allotment of Nintendo Switch systems”.
GameStop’s Bob Puzon says “We’re working closely with Nintendo to get additional Nintendo Switch units, and will let our customers know when they become available”.
Preorders for the $300 system went live on Friday, ↪
following the Switch’s reveal presentation. Of course, this is just the “first allotment” for a single retailer, so if you still want to put your name down to make sure you get one on March 3, you can just try somewhere else.
Though not Amazon, because ↪
it’s sold out there too.
Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime ↪
told Wired after the event that there would be two million Switch consoles available worldwide at launch. Which sounds like a lot, but when you spread that out across retailers across the US, Canada, Western Europe, Japan, Hong Kong and Australasia, then you can see how GameStop sold out so quick.

Walmart and ↪
Target are sold out as well. I wonder if Nintendo is just playing it safe or are they really thinking this increases demand?
