Yeah they figure if you you leave your car on unattended and somebody steals it its your fault and your liable for what damages the theft causes with you car..I feel the cop was alil excessive with the ticket cause the car was at the guys driveway but

And also auto experts say 30 seconds is enough time to warm up your car in winter.

Auto experts today say that you should warm up the car no more than 30 seconds before you start driving in winter. "The engine will warm up faster being driven," the EPA and DOE explain. Indeed, it is better to turn your engine off and start it again than to leave it idling

Is crime slow out there right now or something? You have to have too much time on your hands to catch this.

No sh*t the engine will warm up faster when driven. Problem is driving a car when it's cold. That's no good for the engine. I'd be a damn fool to start my car up in 10* weather and start driving in 30sec.

No need to warm up a modern engine.

But I use remote start so the A/C has already cooled off or heated up the inside.

You should be able to drive it after 30-60 seconds. You shouldn't go 0 to 60 though. Driving it at about 30 mph for a few minutes then increasing the speed over the course of a few minutes should be good enough.

where u live?

michigan winters are brutal. most definitely want their cabin to be warm before u start driving. it can take a good 15 minutes if u have an older car

there are variables to what he said, lots of em... if u got a newer car u are good to go after a very short warmup... u got an older car and if it has certain issues then u are best off letting it warm up all the way or close to it

like, if u have a transmission solenoid going out u prolly want to heat it ur car good at first to prevent any rough shifting for a sec.... just different variables like i was saying... im no expert but this is just lifelong experience dealing with cars in cold climates, im from Alaska

That's petty, but police officers are known to be petty c*nts. A police officer on crossing guard duty once threatened to arrest me cause I stepped off the curb like 2 seconds before the light turned green. There wasn't even any cars coming..

Same way you can get a DUI on your own private property, among other things.

You're not excused from the law just because you're on your own property. Granted, a ticket for this is pretty stupid.
