Real good watch! I always felt something was a bit off with Marvel films (which I'm a huge fan of) but couldn't pinpoint it. Now that I'm more into the movie making process, this cleared up my suspicions

Yea same here I think for me it doesn't take away from the movies and how good they are much but a lot of those awesome scenes would pop out more.

Yea it's super picky guy even says it himself. But you can't front how much better those scenes looked when he changed it up a bit. That airport and even scene in GOG1 looked better. Again takes nothing away they are still good movies. Just cool to see some more of how these movies get done and every detail that goes into them. Does seem like GOG2 might be switching up that aesthetic look though.

I think marvel prolly does it to give it a grittier look w/o the heavy handed dark feel of the dc universe

I mean he touched on the reason himself

They want to give a touch of realism to otherwise unrealistic characters, which makes sense considering the subject matter of civil war was how superhumans relate to the world

I'm so glad they didn't do this with Dr. Strange and let the film be as colorful as it needed to be. GotG2 looks to be no different and hopefully Spidey: Homecoming is a vibrant, colorful film as well as the jungles of Wakanda in BP. The muted style only really worked for the Cap sequels & their real-world aesthetic imo

Not mad at the critique. Personally, when you're watching on a big screen at home or in a theater, you don't really notice. You're too wrapped up in the story and action to think about comparing and contrasting.

Vivid picture looks great, put it on the blu-ray, but if they leave it as is, i'm cool with that too.

Damn I never noticed that before.. it's one of those things that never bothered me before but now it will -- makes sense too, why wouldn't you want comic book movies to be as vibrant and saturated as the comic books they're sourced from?

This is all opinion. I like contrasty and vibrant images but if I'm going for realism i dont use that. Reality is there is no true black or white in nature unless you're artificially doing it. There isnt even the color black. All the black you see in reality is just a regular color really really dark.

Contrasty and vibrant imagery 9 out of 10 times will be recieved better by the viewer but its about context. Comic book movies should be vibrate and not dull gray like Gears of War 1.

Most wont notice because they dont know any better. It's like not noticing a player in a sport doing technique wrong because that person just may not know that part of the sport like that. Everyone has eyes, everyone knows art, but not everyone gets it.

Most of Marvel's stuff looks fine. Better video would have been Why Civil War is ugly as fu*k.
