Apr 5 - Pharrell Williams Launches Ice Cream Skateboarding Team

Pharrell Williams recently launched The Ice Cream skate team, lead by professional skateboarder Terry Kennedy.

According to an article published on expn.com, a sister site to television network ESPN that covers extreme sports, Williams snagged five amateurs who will tour the country for seven months with Kennedy.

The team will scout talent and film tricks for an upcoming DVD/Combo, which will be released in the fall.

Williams’ younger brother, Kato Williams is one of the team members, which rounded out by Terrell Robinson, Kevin Booker, Jacob Walder and Jimmy Gorecki.

"You get these hungry ams off the street and you show them they can make something of themselves and that's what Ice Cream is all about," Williams told expn.com. "I want these skaters to get recognition for shredding and to show that what they are doing is a beautiful thing to aspire to."

Hip-Hop and Skating go hand in hand?...riiiiiight?...like white folks and Jheri Curls?

Can you PLEASE explain to me how Hip-Hop and skateboarding go hand in hand?
Did Africa Bambatta skateboard? Is skateboarding one of the four elements? Was Tony Hawk a B-Boy? Does he have a mixtape out? Does Bucky Lasek bomb trains? Did I miss something?

yah f*g i go to school here LOS ANGELES south of vermont street pull your damn mapquest up and figure it out. Im sorry but these kids cant afford IPODs so yes, they are using boomboxes and they are skating, they are all black and mexican and they pull some sick tricks. i guess you havent heard of kareem campbell, pro skater with city stars from harlem. Not all skating is punk music dumbass, just like anything else around this country your culture is what you come up with and their aint no rule that these young guys gotta listen to such and such music. Ignorant people think the only world is their world and nothing more. sh*t, your sig is sooo fitting..."stupidity is not a crime, so move along" which is what im about to do in response to yours, later.

ooookay so where you live blacks and mexicans (young n*gga cats) skateboard?...with boomboxes? (I'm not even gonna ask where can you even BUY a "boombox" in 2005) i don't doubt that.

Do they gangbang too?

Just 'cuz a couple of (young n*gga cats) skate and listen to rap on a boombox doesn't mean Hip-Hop and Skating go hand in hand. That's just marketing T! Just another way to r*pe REAL HIP-HOP.

More Skate Rap...
