why's imortal technique gettin so much love, i can't say i ever liked him that much, i always thought he was nice, but not like 'the best'... he tends to force rhymes in the songs/freestyles i heard, i do like his voice, i dunno hes tight but not a contendor just yet
Listen to Revolutionary Vol 2, he forces less lyrics and his content on that album is unmatched. I wasn't a huge fan of his first joint, but Vol 2 is a master piece. After that album he should be near the top of any list about lyrics. He is a great story teller as well.

no disrespect to Saigon, because he is a talented dude... but WTF are you guys thinking if you are voting for him? Same with the people who keep shouting Papoose. Wait till they have an album out... mixtapes don't really count for anything. Before Cassidy dropped his album people were hyping him up just the same. Dudes shouldn't even be considered for something like best lyracst in rap if they don't have an album out.

^^ i hear ya point, i don't get into punch line rappers any more, but jada is one of the exceptions IMO
i don't have a problem with punchline rappers. Big L was primarily a punchline MC and their is no denying his skill, but that said someone like Big L was a better story teller than Jada and his lyrics were more diverse. I'm not critiquing Jada's skill. I'm just saying he doesn't do enough to be the best lyricst in the game. There is no way he should have moe than 3 times the votes of Talib Kweli... too many people on here know nothing about hip hop.

^^^yea, but you gotta understand, half the damn time, an album doesn't consist of what the artist wants to do, but what the label wants the artist to do, and what direction and fanbase they want the artist to have... a mixtape will let you know jus how skillful the artist is... thats why its better to go independent, you have your own creative control over your album...

Average at best now? Stillmatic and Lost Tapes are both recent and they are oth better Lyrically than anything by Jada or Styles. Most artist would be lucky to put out an album that nice once in their careers.

Fetus, One Mic, & Rewind > than both of Jada's albums

your screenname says it all

lost tapes(2001) is anything but recent... and is 5/5
but it was all old material

This is NOW... nas best tracks NEVER make the album

i love lost tapes.. but WackMatic, and God's Trash were terrible, and i can''t even listen to disc 1 on sd, and disc 2 is pretty bad too...

J Love Nas Finest Vol. 1, 2, 3 or 4 > Any of them albums

Illmatic = hip-hop classic
it was written = 4.5/5
i am 4.5/5

"I am" isn't that good... that entire album is very sketchy...
Stillmatic and God Son ware both way better than I am...
Wackmatic? there is only one questionabe track on that album.
I am = 3.5
Stillmatic = 4.5
God's Son = 4

THIS IS AN IMPOSSIBLE LIST!!! You cant just pick one of these doods...

gotta agree...

Word. Evreyone has there own opinion bout evreything. its tough to single out one or two single mcs out of the thousands that are out there. the main reason people like some mcs is because they can relate to them in some way. Thats y it makes it so hard choosing just one. because everyone was brought up diffrently...

Favor for a a Favor is definitely a banger, but I'm not talking about production here and niether is the thread... Almost every song on Stillmatic was deep lyrically... Rewind and One Mic are classic tracks, same with Ether, and Destroy & Rebuild but his lyrics went far beyond traditional street hop... he had deep political messages and strong social commentaries on almost every track. Particularly Rule, My Country and Every Ghetto. Dude shows more lyricl ability on any two of those tracks than most dudes wll in a full album and this thread is about Lyrics.
