That's funny, because he had you bi*ches not saying sh*t when Hit Em Up Dropped. He didn't run, but moved to the best side.

Nas was the one crying himself to sleep because Pac dissed him, and Piggie was begging him join up with him to take on Makaveli, but he turned him down because he worshiped Pac.

lol nas and biggie had beef with each other in the mid 90s until pac started dissing the whole east coast.

the thing is Illmatic takes me back to those days...Nas painted a beautiful canvas with that....plus it depends on how old a person was when illmatic came out....i mean the impact it had was tremendous =, they compared him to RAKIM......RAKIM!!!!!!!!! I mean c'mon thats it right there it doesnt get any better than that, even if people like me would never compare anyone to the GOD emcee...still to be put in that category is the ultimate praise...i will say 36 chambers would be my number 1, then in rotation would be black moon-enta da stage, ice cube-amerikkas most wanted, nas-illmatic, mobb deep-the infamous....

Like I always say, if someone came to me and said "put me on to this hip hop music." The first album I would give them is Illmatic.

lol Ya'll make Nas FANS look lame af. NY/ Eastcoast niccaz will always claim FIVE PERCENT/ BS esoteric raps as LYRICAL. Thats the only distinction they have in MUSIC. If you take that BS out of the equation you are left with some pretty dull ryhmes. Im a NAS fan, but PAC is the GOAT and MATW is better. Ill has not aged well at all.

Me and 2Pac were soldiers of the same struggle.

A vote for Nas is a vote for 2pac.

Despite these regional differences, Hampton credits Illmatic with providing a common artistic ground for rappers on the West Coast and East Coast rap scenes. In the 2009 essay "Born Alone, Die Alone," she recounts the album's impact on West Coast artist, Tupac Shakur. While working as a journalist for The Source in 1994, Hampton covered three court cases involving Tupac. Around this time, she received an advance-copy of Illmatic and immediately dubbed a cassette version for Tupac, who became "an instant convert" of the album. The next day, she writes, Tupac "arrived in his a.ssigned courtroom blasting Illmatic so loudly that the bailiff yelled at him to turn it off before the judge took his seat on the bench." In her essay, Hampton implies that Nas' lyricism might have influenced Tupac's acclaimed album, Me Against the World, which was recorded that same year.

Pac was a student of the game and I have no doubt that if he was alive he would agree Illmatic is the GOAT album.

I'm a big Pac fan, but an even bigger Nas fan. Nas influenced the art of rhyming. Pac influenced the culture of hip hop. We live in a time when dudes are more a fan of the person than the art. Most of Pac's fans that are about 25 & younger are just members of the cult of personality. They live vicariously through Pac's image & his music because they can't/won't do it in real life. n*ggas jock Pac the person & automatically make him a better emcee. From a technical standpoint, Pac is an above average emcee. But when you add his personality, it elevates him. Nas is nearly flawless as a technical emcee. He just has too much of an introverted personality to attract people not into the art of emceeing. So since this is about the actual album, Illmatic wins hands down.
