everyone is saying its medicore and average verse but when you are calling out your peers, it makes the heat 10x stronger....wordplay, delivery, metaphors and then calling out names makes this the verse of the year for sure...

its just that your favorite rapper didn't have the balls to do this, so people getting upset...

kendrick just created even more buzz for himself with all the people that will mention him in their songs/verse etc...

i liked it and my opinion matters the most to me so its safe to say i will be bumpin this for awhile..oh and big sean and electronica did their thang on it too.

The real story is how whenever the game needs a spark, NY is always involved.

Kendrick trying to pull a Pac....Really was never the biggest KL fan (Ab Soul is much better to me), but I can appreciate his ambition. Too bad no one in NY really gives a fu*k what an average rapper gotta say. He aint running through the blocks of our hoods any time soon so its all for the birds

my view on the verse and the song as a whole is that it is great for hiphop and rap all together.. when a smiple verse gets a fire lit under alot of rappers and gets the fans debating whether its this or that...

that's the beauty of this genre.. like Diddy said... Rap is suppose to be about competition.. to see who is better than who.. all this branding togetherness... cosigning of inferior rappers because they are too afraid of alienating their fanbases or the deliberate attempt to expand one's own fanbase by incorporating the buzz generated off a newer artist

Styles P said this sh*t 4 years ago about how sorry rap has gotten now that everybody is all friendly and sh*t...

fu*k being friends.... go at n*ggas.... fu*k trying gain notoriety off another n*gga hard work and sweat... stop co-signing these weak a.ss trends and artists and elevate the game to where to got to be elite to get in... nowadays anybody with fruity loops and a simple rhyme and a dance step can be a fu*kin rapper...

fu*k all that...

Kill or k!lled lyrically on wax.. get the fu*k off the mic if you weak...

just how I see it...

Was it lyrically the best verse of the year? No, not even close. Was it a good verse? Absolutely. Whether you like it or hate it, the verse did something to hip hop. He got the whole game active and reacting, thus making his verse, if anything at all, influential.

No one can say his verse was basic. There was end rhyme schemes, internal rhyme schemes, alliteration, a play on words, rhythm and tone was on point if you wanna get musical. Anyone can argue if there are better verses out there in the WHOLE history of hip hop, but you need to appreciate greatness and talent in front of you.

I haven't heard people talk about a verse since Andre 3000 Sixteen.

anybody say that was basic must be listening to the name dropping sections. Listen to that verse and hear hidden meanings.
Also, if people really listen to it, the only person he dissed was Shyne.
