I wont post in this thread again if someone can name 1 verse in the past 10 years that had this many rappers hurt, this great of a reception, and this many fans and other hip hop heads checking for it.

Great verse by Kendrick..

I don't think it warrants a response from any of these guys tho.. He saying he trying to be the greatest.. and unfortunately.. a few folks names got threw in the mix.. lol.. but its not a diss IMO.

If anyone did respond tho... Pusha T is that dude that could come hard.. the rest.. IDGAF.

This the internet. It's all one big a.ss meme now. He called Tyler the Roach eater out as one of those rivals/equals he's trying to out spit, right?

I'll check out Ortiz's version, and just ignore whatever Kendrick said. He lost by considering Tyler as anything but a side show.

i love seeing bx posters downplay the message of this track yet there fav rappers are responding to it, and either pissed, happy, or excited to write real music and not pop hits

just heard the verse...sh*t was kinda wack to me. I don't even consider this n*gga to be a lyricist, his rhyme schemes (or lack thereof) are too basic...

plus he didn't even really diss anyone...

I hope this brings some actual battle raps to the game, cuz its been on snooze for me too long. I keep that snooze button on repeat. Nothing hard hitting about his verse, mostly a call out and i hope it turns out entertaining be4 it becomes an apology

Yes, we live in a day an age where a verse like this has a big impact, and teenagers consider all these new trash rappers GOAT's. Nothing new to see here, it's been likes this for the past few years.
i couldnt had said it any better, i grew up in the 80's & 90's hip hop (nwa, eazy, pac, cube ect...) so this aint nothing new to me, today's bubble gum rap is too fruity for me to even listen but kendrick & a very few others are about to bring it back to its essence...funny thing is kendrick been doin this since early 2004-05 but he mentioned all of today's pus*y rappers & everyone's butt is swollen

definitely NOT as significant as ether to the game or in comparison to other verses at this time IMO. what I will say is that due to the online hype ALONE it's like Kendrick just won the internet. if this action gets other rappers to release quality material and wakes up some of the giants and helps shake the lazy off the industry, then at that time significance will be recognized.

If nothing happens and it doesn't inspire and is just viewed as attention whoring and passed off as mediocre, then it'll just get swept under the rug and forgotten about.

on a side note, if a mediocre release is whats considered fire, that says more about the state of the game then it does about the artist that released it.

Im not even a Kendrick fan like that....

But this sh*t broke the internet.

I have NEVER seen a verse with this response... and I say NEVER.

Whether u like the verse or not... EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT

7 of the 9 trending topics on Twitter are Kendrick related

Hip hop has been LIGHT as sh*t lately. All these rappers are best friends, and someone needed to step up and tell everyone to go fu*k themselves.

And Kendrick is talented enough to do this. Im hype.

Hip hop has been making great music lately, but it was missing this competitive edge that Kendrick started tonight.

We just witnessed history

I understand what your saying but imagine if when "hit em up" came out if social media was the way it is now... n*ggas would have been dying that night

Very true, if twitter was around when Hit 'Em Up dropped it literally would have crashed the entire service.

CIA would have been able to track a noticeable decline in overall internet functions that day due to all the traffic/downloads/streams/reloads/debates.
