A rapper's skill level doesn't come into whether the MUSIC he made is good or not... It helps/hurts but ultimately the music is the only indicator. 2pac is my favorite rapper, but Snoop is a favorite of mine too. And Doggystyle is one of, if not the greatest debuts of all time and it was so good in fact, that the sophomore slump was Snoop's cross to bear FIRST in terms of hip-hop. Don't be mad that its such a spectacular album just because you don't like Snoop. That's how dumb conversations on Boxden begin.
it is not one of the greatest debut album of all time, time has told that

just like his sophmore slump proved he wasnt a good rapper

it may have been good for its time

Im guessing one of the reasons is because it set the bar high? like snoop being dr dres lil homie had nothing to do with that for one

the samething can be said about 50 cents GRODT which took the title from doggystyle as the most anticpated debut album

the only difference between snoop and 50 is 50 actually had some skill

the production and his image carried the album

his image is the only reason he still has a career

aint nothing spectacular about the album but the production

I like snoop so dont get it twisted

Time has told that? That G-Funk era has aged better than any other 90's era music. Doggystyle sounds great. I'm done arguing that because we know how you feel...

I honestly think most of the classic albums from the 90's have aged fine...the only albums i truly consider dated are albums from the late 80's

Yeah, but it's not like I said that they all haven't aged well. I just said G-Funk aged better than them.

And to kiddrocay... I'd argue for death Certificate and the Predator all day. Cube is top 5. But saying Doggystyle is better than those Cube albums isn't blasphemous. Plus you can harp on about production all day. Just because Snoop wasn't spitting some lyrical miracle multi sh*t, doesn't mean the production carried him. Those songs are classic because of HIS style and HIS songwriting ability. No need to be mad that he made dope music.

dont throw that "technical" arguement my way because thats where Im not coming from

Im just saying production and his image

what song writing ability ? brah this n*gga had a lot of help on that album

and snoop is known to use ghost writers, one of his albums was basically ghost wrote for him

Yeah.

You have no proof he had as much help as you claim. He didn't have ghostwriters until Ego Trippin'. So what are we talking about? You said production carried the album did you not? Isn't that inferring his words (i.e. rapping ability) are being put into question?

Remember who you're talking to here... I'm not a troll who says things to say them. In no way is what you're saying about Snoop and Doggystyle true.

This n*gga pulled that from Wikipedia. Even Wikipedia says he worked on choruses, but not snoop's raps. I'll wait for you to show what parts of Snoop's raps he ghostwrote.

oh so now I cant be a fan of someone who dropped tracks like these, which is an excellent album the way and was suppose to be the next big thing from texas until the accident

my point was to prove that he didnt write that whole album by himself, and the d.o.c. isnt the only ghost writer on the album, even dre helped snoop with writing

He didn't have ghostwriters.

I asked you to prove your statement, you avoided it because you can't. Take the L you created for yourself.
