24, gigs of memory? Is that a server bro?

Anyways, I haven't built a rig for myself since 2006.

I'm considering selling my console back-log (along with the console itself) and just cop the PC versions since next gen is around the corner. May as well get used to the eye candy.

I'm debating between the bare minimum GTX 760/HD 7950, or just go ham on the GTX 780. 2 gigs of video memory may be outdated as fu*k when those consoles drop.

My laptop is being repaired but it has a Core i7 3820QM, 8GB of RAM, GTX 660M overclocked, 256GB SSD, just a 720p display though. Plays most games on high with good framerates.

looking to build a desktop sometime after these new consoles drop

Honestly I don't even remember what my PC was like before switching to an SSD. All I know now is that it takes about 15 seconds to boot up, programs launch instantaneously, and I don't think I recall a time when I ever had to wait for my PC to do anything... And I built it like 4 years ago.
