Chris Brown Gives Back in Compton

visit this link http://www.rap-up.com/201 .. ck-in-compton/

Chris Brown is using his star power for a good cause. The R&B superstar showed his support for Trayvon Martin while passing out Reebok sneakers to youth at Roy Campanella Park in Compton during the second “WE US: Walk Everywhere in Unity’s Shoes” event held this month.

He brought together L.A. City Council members, the LAPD, and youth development organizations to help “inspire a message of unity.”

“Thankful for all of the people who came together to help give back today!” tweeted Breezy.

In advance of his upcoming album X, he previewed some unreleased tracks including “Favorite Girl” and “It’s Your Fantasy” for his Chris Brown Channel subscribers.

“Love More,” his new single featuring Nicki Minaj, is expected to debut by the end of this month.

It's a shame that Rihanna incident happened. He's the one black artist that hasn't sold out to whites/jews.

Could have had a huge impact on the black community if he reached his potential.

Beyonce, Drake, Jay Z, Wayne, Kanye (after him mom died) Rihanna, Frank Ocean etc none of these n*ggas give a fu*k about black people.

Real n*ggas like J Cole & Breezy are the only few that actually do.

Chris has more than just the Rihanna incident that has ruined his reputation. I can't even defend that clown anymore, it's like he gets more more immature and more ignorant the older he gets.

Nationwide (May 14, 2013) -- The Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund (SCSF) provides individual grants ranging from $1,500 to $2,500 to every student who qualifies and reapplies yearly, from admission to graduation. The grant can be used to cover tuition expenses and related supplemental educational expenses such as books, lab fees, travel and select costs of living. All Shawn Carter Scholars are required to "give back" by conducting community service and by serving as mentors to younger, aspiring Shawn Carter Scholars.

All high school seniors, undergraduate (2-year or 4-year) college students, and students at vocational or trade schools are eligible to apply. All applicants must be US citizens, 25 years old or younger, and have a minimum GPA of 2.0.

The program attracts candidates from all backgrounds, nation-wide. They all have a compelling desire to pursue higher education, in spite of many personal, socio-economic setbacks, including teen pregnancy, former incarceration, interrupted schooling, and homelessness. They are hardworking, resilient and determined individuals who want to make positive contributions to their local and global communities, and they turn to the SCSF to make their ambitions and dreams possible.

Founded in 2002 by Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) and his mom Gloria Carter, the foundation has since then given scholarships to over 750 students, totaling over $1.3 million dollars.
