he was at 109 pitches and still need 8 outs. Nothing wrong with coming out of the game there, especially when you're a vet with 3 shoulder surgeries.
call me old school but im sorry. Todays players are charmin soft.
fans pay good money to watch athletes perform and not "quit"
The Astros are 33-64. What is is there for consumers to come see.
fans were robbed of potential history
I obviously don't know that pitchers name for a reason and he will never see any endorsements.

Bedard is 34 years old. not a new youngin. this is his job. he had 3 shoulder surgeries already and said i would rather pitch a couple more years (money) than pitch to a couple more batters and end it (career). Your reasoning is horrible.

he should get a lifetime ban.
i feel brauns suspension should have been the rest of this year and all of next year. it is the only way to show the players that if you cheat the consequences will be devastating

Braun's suspension would've been alot more worse if he had to finish the season w/the sh*tbucket Brewers............while NOT getting paid

Lifetime sentences in jail doesn't stop the avg person from committing crimes..

What makes you think Lifetime bans will stop millionaires from cheating...

How doesn't it? Hard to commit a crime when you're in prison.

Likewise, you can't cheat in baseball if you can't play baseball

I was listening to this on The Score today. A-Rod's career is finished as I comprehend this. He just got healthy from DL and now he's going out like this. Believe it or not: This is it for him. These are the last images of him concluding his career. Sucks for his fans, the ones that followed him from Seattle also. He's always maintained a good demeanor though in his interviews and public relations. So it's gonna be hard for the MLB to say farewell to him, but Selig can't wait to do it for his own legacy against the Steroid Era. He's somewhere

You're Missing the point...

Baseball is throwing around the possibility of "lifetime" bans to deter others from cheating (Hence the crime comparison)

Humans are habitual creatures. If I've been juicing all through the minors up to the big leagues and that's what got me paid. Please believe I'm going to continue taking/doing what got me to that point.

we talking about baseball. their dream is to play in the big leagues. if you cheat you lose that chance, plain and simple. i dont care if they stop cheating in life in the other things they do, but it will stop them from cheating in the MLB. a lifetime ban means they cant play anymore in the majors. how could they still cheat.

and if the penalty is a lifetime ban then you will suffer the consequences, and never be able to get paid again for that sport. they will stop. it is either play the right way and get paid, or cheat and get caught and never play again. not just a little 50 or 100 game ban

If a prospective player/ped user sees how harsh the implications and consequences are, it'll deter them from even starting. It's not about the current users, it's about possible future ones.

I get what both of you are saying.

All I'm saying is there will always be "cheaters" who will take the risk and cheat anyway...

There will always be another BioGenesis/Balco that is one up on the system..

1st time offenders need to get banned for life. That will change the game forever.

Pitchers gonna be having 1.00 ERA's again. HR leaders gonna be like 30 max now.

I obviously don't know that pitchers name for a reason and he will never see any endorsements.

Then shut the fu*k up about him

You're talking out of your a.ss like a broke Jason Whitlock, feigning interest in something enough to voice your outrage on something you barely give a sh*t about. You don't know why he pulled out, you don't even know his name! Stop trying to be a voice to something you have no understanding of! It's irritating to see you make such daft proclamations about the future of baseball when you don't watch in the present.

As someone who loves the game, fu*k you for trying to use this as a platform for your misinformed tripe. Take that sh*t to a Lebron thread, b.
