Is 50 Cent's music career over?

hasn't dropped an album in 4 years
having problems with interscope
worrying about other things outside of music

What Street King Immortal is at so far

New day topped out at #79 on the billboard top 100
My Life was a hit in the U.S. for about two weeks before falling off
We Up didn't do better than #50 on the rap charts

Major Distribution and First Date were a promo singles so i won't count them.

Album was supposed to come out in November of last year and have been pushed back 3 times with no release date or single in sight.

so is his music career over?

His last album went gold with a month early leak and very little promotion.

He's still able to generate hype at the drop of a dime whenever he does something

I mean c'mon even if you hate him it's obvious what the answer is.

I dunno why but people on here always think if 50 can't push numbers like 03 then his career is done but when other mainstream rappers debut with 200k and some change they're like " Wow that's great,he's blowing up"

I feel like there's been a " Is 50's career done ?" thread on here almost every month for the past 4 years.

I feel that most of his music sounds really uninspired at the moment but I think it's kinda stupid to say his career is done.

What carrer? i didnt know he had one. Honestly theres a bigger chance of Ja Rule coming back to the rap game then 5-0 having a hit again.

if any other rapper was in limbo like this we would ask the same question. its not he dropped an album recently or hasn't had singles for this one

Why don't people just admit his career is over? He had one of the biggest and most lucrative runs in hip hop history. He will go down in history, it's not like hes going fade into obscurity like some rappers. He'll always have a place in hip hop but it's over music wise. The people have moved on and his music isn't marketable anymore.

50 has been done but his fanbase seems to not get the message. All the white fans that eminem provided moved on years ago. Duke never recovered from that beating Game put on his whole camp. Game removed that whole aura of "invincibility". A "bully" rarely recovers after taking a beating. Then you add in Ye embarrassing him and it was all downhill from there. He got his hands in a number of ventures so I root for his success in that regard. As a rapper, he needs to hang it up.

I didn't think Em's career was done when he was gone for 4+ years

I dont think Ye's career is done even tho it looks like he might only go gold on this album like 50 did with BISD.

I dont think Dre's career is done because he hasn't put out Detox in 12+ years and has had single after single flop.

It's all about if these people choose to pursue the music or not, 50 would have to release back to back albums that dont even hit gold before we actually start to have this convo.

It's obvious he's not putting out the greatest music in the world right now but the opportunity for him to still take a swing at it is still there.

Let's not forget after his first record became huge, he started releasing straight bullsh*t and releasing only good music via mixtapes.
