and as i said early grum trying to sign blatche for vet minimum
Blatche is gonna sign for the vet minimum with the knicks over the nets

Kidd is meeting with Blatche on monday. If Blatche gets a guarantee of minutes (which is what he wants since the wizards are paying him 9 million a year for the next 2) Blatche will be a net next year.

What the knicks fail to realize is they are in win now mode. Melo is in his prime now, so throwing away potential picks is detrimental for them to get over the hump. This team is throwing away the small window of opportunity they have.

This trade is simply asinine.
potential picks in 2016 when melo is 35?

1. Rudy Gay is your franchise player

2. You signed Landry Fields to a 3 year deal

3. You just traded for Steve Novak and Marcus Camby

4. You got some 2nd rounders who wont amount to sh*t and a 1st rounder years from now

5. Knicks will be in the playoffs and the Raptors won't

yup, i make 0 sense

Yup

This trade probably nailed the coffin to be 100% honest.

And aye shoutout to Will, there is some report going on that Grun "found" a loophole that allows the Knicks to buyout Amare's contract.

I know since this season you been saying we could terminate his contract from what you heard.

blatche gonna come here like he was suppose to last year

what guaruntee of minutes is he gonna get with Evans, KG, Lopez, Plumlee, and Teletovic ahead of him

Yes we know he's getting paid by Washington but he obviously wants to showcase his talents for another lucrative contract. dude isnt 38 and close to retirement, he wants security.

edit: wrote that wrong

He won't because Lopez and KG don't play that many minutes because they want to keep them healthy. He would probably get the same 20 minutes he got this year.

I don't agree with Deng and Leonard is a bit too premature. Batum ... I guess. Even then Batum had a spectacular year I wouldn't exactly say Batum is that much better than Gallo. I would say they're a wash offensively - I'd give the defensive edge to Gallo but Batum is the better passer.

Pierce - meh.

Whatever maybe I'm overrating him but I like his game.

1. Blatche is 26 not 38, i have no clue why you think he is 38.

2. Teletovic and Plumlee aren't ahead of Blatche

Blatche will resign, There are plenty of minutes to give him with KG and Lopez only playing 28-30 minutes a game.

Stoudemire will make $21,679,893 this coming season, which is slightly higher than Carmelo Anthony's $21,490,000 salary. The difference in value between the two seems so much greater mainly because Melo is coming off a season in which he was an MVP candidate and the NBA's scoring champ, while Stoudemire had surgery on both knees and the indications are his minutes will now be limited.

How do the Knicks maximize Stoudemire's value? Let's accept one reality: with two years and $45,090,881 left on his uninsured deal, they won't be trading it this summer.

Perhaps next summer, when it is a large expiring contract, there will be some interest. But for now, the Knicks have to believe Stoudemire will be on their roster for the coming season. Can he give them something in a 25-minute-per-game cap to preserve his knees and still be effective?

The Knicks do have one option if they don't want to wait until next summer: the stretch provision.

UPDATED: A clarification: In the new CBA, you can waive a player and "stretch" the remaining money over 2x remaining years, plus 1. But that is for contracts signed under the new deal.

However, for contracts under the old CBA, you can negotiate the buyout so that the payments can be made over a longer or shorter period.

So let's say the Knicks negotiate a buyout with Stoudemire and he agrees to a payment similar to the stretch provision rule (2x +1). That means they would turn his $21 million cap hit this season and next into $9 million per over five years.

Immediately, that saves them $12.6 million against the cap, which won't get them under it. However, it would get them under the luxury tax apron, which would allow them to execute a sign-and-trade for a free agent. It could also allow them to use the full mid-level exception ($5 million per), rather than the taxpayer's mid-level.

All of this, of course, depends on what they do with their own free agents, mainly J.R. Smith.

Extending Stoudemire's buyout comes with a price, of course. First and foremost, you give up a key player who, when healthy, can help. It's also a mortgage on your payroll going forward, as the team will have $9M of cap space eaten up by Stoudemire through the 2017-18 season. If they endure one more year, they can trade him as an expiring or let his contract melt away for a huge amount of cap space in 2015.

So what is the smarter move here?

i know, i wrote that part wrong.

why would someone 26 want to be buried on the bench playing 20 minutes a game when they can be showcasing their skills and getting more mins elsewhere? he wont be ring chasing becuz the nets arent winning sh*t next year.
