One has nothing to do with the other, but you're not incorrect.

I am not sure if I can say anyone of those artists has more than 3 truly ground breaking, game changing, standard setting, highly influential and critically acclaimed albums. As I always say in threads like these where we are talking about classics, my standard is probably a little stricter than others. I have lots of albums that are classics to me personally because they marked some time in my life or I just really like it, but for me to consider something a true classic takes a lot. For that reason I don't think any emcee or group has 3 or more "classics". I could be convinced that maybe a couple could have 2 but no more than that.

The funny thing is AEOM doesn't have as much "filler" as people claim it's just that disc 1 is far superior to disc 2. A lot of the songs on disc 2 aren't what I'd call filler just tracks that aren't as strong...

but in all honesty ... nas and pac could be the only ones that truly fit the bill as solo artists with 3 classics. A lot of classic albums dropped in the 90s but none really had longevity.

We could throw some tribe albums on the list... but i don't feel like looking for them. same for 2 short

Eminem/50 stans fall back.. they haven't and probably wont make this list the way things are sounding/looking. Cam is one away from making this list... if you don't count the dispet double cd comilation (come home with me, SDE, ???)

EPMD has three classics IMO

Business As Usual
Strictly Business
Unfinished Business

I agree with the OP beside Eminem and Kanye

IMO Kanye has two
College Dropout & Late Registration

Em has two also IMO
Marshall Mather & Eminem Show

Slim Shady was a good album, but not quite classic and a bit silly/amateurish

AEOM is arguably the greatest 2 disc hip-hop album. The first half had more of the things you expected for Tupac puttin on for death Row while being rowdy and hardcore. The second half was more personal and smooth. The duality in sequencing was genius. How can anybody deny that?

You Boxden n*ggas man

Also, check how B.G. dropped his classics as a teenager.

Eminem being on this list is laughable. Anyway, Mobb Deep needs that nod. They had one of the best three consecutive album runs in hip hop history.

Infamous
Hell on Earth (which many people try to discredit because P sh*tted on Pac with "Drop a Gem")
Murda Muzik

Best rap duo of all-time behind Eric B & Rakim
