Sony will have DRM. This isn't just Microsoft pushing for this. Developers and publishers are pushing for this too.

I'm aware of that this is me basically hoping against hope because if both of them does this there is no way I'm paying anywhere near launch price for the ps4 or xbox one

I have literally 40 more games I'd like to try out for 360 and I'm getting a game fly next month so I can hold the first year out no problem

a gaming PC will hold me down for the 3rd party next gen must haves if it comes to that

That number is so dangerous to Microsoft because it won’t play with casuals, especially not in year one. It is a price aimed directly at the core gaming community. Hardcore gamers are the only people who spend that much money on new consoles — they’re the ones who need to experience the biggest, newest games, no matter what the cost, and they’re the ones who can prop up a system until it grabs a large enough install base. But they’re also the people who have been most vocal about their displeasure with Microsoft Xbox One’s used games policies. To say that the Xbox One is unpopular in the forum communities right now would be an understatement.

Well... no Xbox one for me :-(

Sony is my only hope now, but if they are on the anti consumer tomfoolery bandwagon, then I'm afraid I'm done with console gaming and will use the money I saved to get a PC rig built.

$499 is steep but it is 2013 so makes sense. This is the era with $500 low end TV's, $500+ smartphones and the system will be good for 6+ years (unlike PC rigs).

Many Sony proponents are forgetting that Sony needs to make a profit on the PS4, I think it will be around the $450 price range, any cheaper I wonder how they will recoup the losses the PS3 made + this system (upselling items to recoup perhaps??).

According to BX, Sony will: Have a DRM free system, free online gaming, low cost console with GDDR5 RAM... All I ask is, realistically where will they be making money in all this? I forget as long as they are pro consumer!
