so only 2 decades of basketball were great

one day somebody gonna say wilt wasn't sh!t because he played in a era thats full of 6'5 guys playing forward
If someone scored a 100 points today it would be a much bigger deal

He was playing guys who worked 9-5s , nba wasn't near advanced

I think Rodman went off a little bit but I can understand his point.....no hate.

I will say that the defense in the late 80's, early 90's was better. Today's "big man" are weak and it's almost sad. No big man has 20-10 this season and the D-Player of the year went to Marc Gasol who avg 1 steal and 1.7 blocks per game. Last year it was Tyson Chandler I think.

Not trying to hate on Marc because the Grizz surprised me this year but compared to DPOTY's back in the day which was Michael Jordan ('88), Mark Eaton ('89 w/3.7blk's per), Dennis Rodman ('90,'91), Hakeem Olajuwan (92,93), Mutumbo, GP and so on. Crazy...

And if you look at the NBA All-Defensive teams in those years it's even more crazy with Joe Dumars, GP, Scottie, David Robinson, John Stockton, Larry Nance, Karl Malone, Kevin Mchale, Dennis Johnson, Mo Cheeks, Rodman etc... (most of those names with multiple appearances)

vs Lebron, Jakim Noah, Paul Gerge, Ibaka, Tony Allen, Chris Paul, Tim Duncan, and Tyson Chandler? ...............I don't think we cut it.

The thing that would work aganist Rodmans "theory" would be the zone D. That will probably be the issue they would have to deal with. Somebody would have to probably come and help D but with the coaches in that era I think they would have also made adjustments for him.

Again no hate, but even though he's crazy......I would have to agree with Rodman. He wouldn't be "average" but he wouldn't be as dominate.

Dennis is right. The NBA today is terrible compared to what it was then. No way in hell could these teams today play under the same rules those teams did. Jordan, Rodman and Pippen able to get as physical as they did on these flopping a.ss prima donnas of today would have been a.ssault. Plus, if you give those guys from back then these pansie a.ss soft rules of today they just might roll off 75 wins or win five titles in a row.

Hmm I would beg to differ. If the rules were the same as back then, Bron would be forced to play more aggressively. And as athletic, big and strong as he is, it wouldn't look too good for whoever is guarding him.

It's just a matter of the rule changes from then to now, not particularly the player himself

Why don't you also ask that to the Kobe haters?
Mainly has to do with the fact that Kobes fan base (Especially on this site) are dumb as a bag of rocks.

This thread is a perfect example. kobe stans say Lebron would't last in the 90's because of how tough the D was or how he wouldnt last because he has no jumper and wouldnt be able to drive down the lane.

Yet they are the same idiots that come in every thread saying how Jordan was overrated because he was being guarded by non athletic white guys and no zone defense and how Jordan scored more because the game was played at a faster pace back then.

So how would Lebron not be great in the 90s if he's 6'9" 260 with his athleticism Playing fast pace up and down the court, being guarded by non athletic white guys, playing no zone D.

He's right. . Defenses is soft as drugstore cotton these days...the late 80's pistons the early 90's knicks would have LeBron in a neck brace
