And MBDTF say what you want about it, it was much better lyrically & the overall sound was more cohesive. It didn't feel like he just threw a bunch of different genres together and wanted to make a album, it had a tone to it, a vibe, just sounded better. It's not a classic IMO like some say but it was definitely, definitely, DEFINITELY better than this sh*t.
I'll give you that it's much better lyrically, but that's it. I've said plenty of times, sh*t was overproduced to me. It felt like after the mixed feedback 808s got, Kanye was trying to prove something and tried too hard. Yeah, there were good tracks. Gorgeous, Power, So Appalled, Blame Game were the standouts. Monster was good, and honestly after those five tracks I didn't care for the rest of the album. I gave it a 3.5/5 on first listen and I haven't changed my stance
