A College Football Recruit Turns Down a Great Scholarship Offer to Pursue a Rap Career

image

Every year, there are dozens of kids who turn down scholarship offers from the Michigan State football program. But most of them do it because they decide to attend a different school. Wide receiver Jay Harris from Downingtown East High School in Downingtown, Pa. just turned them down for a much different reason. Rather than accept a scholarship offer from the Spartans, Harris told an MSU a.ssistant that he is going to pursue a rap career. That's right. Despite being ranked 17th overall in the senior class in the state of Pennsylvania according to ESPN, Harris is trading in his football cleats for studio time.

"I've been thinking about doing this for a couple of years now," says Harris, who goes by the rap name Jay DatBull. "I've always had this in the back of my head but never had the courage to tell my parents that this is what I want to do."

Sigh. We can't really hate on the kid for following his dreams. If he doesn't really want to play football, then he shouldn't do it. But we sincerely hope that he understands what he's getting himself into and what he's giving up to do it.

You can check out his latest music video for his song, "DatBull 4 Life," below:

Rap is a beautiful thing for us as a people, but i literally know like 20 n*ggas who got they life on hold trying to be a rapper. and only ONE of em has decent talent.

Edit: we need to start being honest and tell n*ggas: "homie, you aint got it."

Looks like they were doing some what ok, cause he hide his intentions from his parents. There for probably meaning they would have went upside his head, with this bullsh*t plan he has now.

edit: Just listened to the dudes song, wow! Throwing it all away to make hood/trap like music? smh.

This n*gga couldnt be related to me, I would personally stomp this n*gga out and make him go to college.

So did I, one of them is named Josh Jarboe. Google that, unfortunate, story.

It's crazy, y'all lil dudes want to contradict a statement to act like you know sh*t. How about you shut the fu*k up and learn something.
